k Farmers\n\nAbout Chris Irwin\nFrom standing room only presentations
at The Masters at Spruce Meadows to opening day of the races at Keenel
and in Kentucky, from Equine Affaire in the U.S. to the prestigious Ho
rse Event in The Netherlands, Chris Irwin has been mesmerizing audienc
es while significantly raising the bar for defining the evolution of h
orsemanship and the ethics of training and handling horses.\nOn a para
llel track, Irwin’s two best-selling books, Horses Don’t Lie and D
ancing with Your Dark Horse, along with his innovative approach to per
sonal coaching called Equine Assisted Personal Development (EAPD), hav
e launched the Canadian horseman to the forefront in the emerging indu
stry of horses being worked with in therapeutic and personal coaching
programs.\nThroughout Canada, the United States, Belgium, The Netherla
nds, Mexico, Bermuda, and now England, certified Irwin trainers in bot
h English and Western disciplines are raising eyebrows in the show rin
 g. From driving to dressage, Irwin students are winning or in the ribb
ons while most often stealing the show with horses proving to be excep
tional in temperament, willingness and performance.\nDressage Today ma
gazine praised Irwin’s ability to develop courage and confidence in
nervous horses. Dutch magazines such as Amazone, PaardenSport and Bit
are raving about his refreshing approach as “non-aggressive while yi
elding incredible results and radical transformations in horses with i
ssues.” However, it was the Belgian all disciplines magazine VVF tha
t perhaps summed Irwin up best as “The Master of Awareness.”\nCrit
ics have raved about the fact that Irwin is not mainstream or just ano
ther commercialized copy of “natural horsemanship.” In fact, Irwin
says with, a wink and a grin, that if his work must be branded then p
erhaps it should be called “un-natural horsemanship.” Many of his
certified trainers endearingly refer to what they have learned form Ch
ris as “so far beyond contemporary horsemanship that it can only be
described as ‘super-natural horsemanship’.”\nWhen coaching Chris
is dedicated and focused on the concept he sums up as the need for
Training before Schooling.”\nChris and his wife Kathryn own and ope
rate Riversong Ranch Equestrian Centre in Alberta.\n\nToronto CADORA .
