SUMMARY:NEDA Fall Festival of Dressage
DESCRIPTION:The NEDA Fall Festival of Dressage consists of four compet
 itions, featuring close to 600 horses competing in classes from Traini
 ng Level, the first step on the dressage ladder, to Grand Prix, the pi
 nnacle of the sport as seen at the Olympic Games.\nWithin this event a
 re the New England Region 8 Regional Championships sponsored by the Gr
 eat American InsuranceGroup and United States Dressage Federation, and
  recognized by US Equestrian Federation. Championship classes will be 
 held Thursday through Sunday, featuring freestyle championships on Sat
 urday and Sunday.\nSecondly, this event is one of the few internationa
 lly recognized American competitions (CDI-W Y/J Saugerties) recognized
  by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI). International compet
 itors earn scores toward representing their countries at competitions 
 such as the World Games or the Olympics.\n\nThird, Thursday and Friday
  in the Sport Horse Breed Show horses (from weanlings to stallions) ar
 e shown \"in hand\".There are special classes for Amateur Handlers, IB
 C classes for specific breeds of horses, and classes for ponies. The $
 5,400 New England Sport Horse Breeder's Futurity is awarded late Thurs
 day afternoon, at a Competitor’s Party, open to all. This competitio
 n is a both a qualifier for and regional finals for the USDF Breeders 
 Championship New England Series also sponsored by Great American; fina
 ls classes will be held Friday morning.\nFinally, Thursday through Sun
 day a National Competition features hundreds of local competitors, ama
 teurs andprofessionals, as well as riders who have competed internatio
 nal events. Within this competition, the Fall Festival Dressage Sweeps
 takes takes place, with final awards available late on Friday late aft
 ernoon. On Sunday high scoring performers will be selected for the Adu
 lt Amateur Championships and the Junior/Young Rider Championships.\n\n
