We recently recieved this question from one of our HorseJobs.ca members.  She asks:

"I was wondering if you would know the average "salary" for a certified EC English Level One Coach would be?  In our strange industry of the horse world this subject is rarely talked about and discussed."

We need your input. Feel free to respond here or send me a note via email for discretion purposes to info@horsejobs.ca (all information given will remain confidential)

Thanks in advance for your help

This is an interesting question. I'm working toward my Coach 1 and I hadn't really thought about it. I'm interested to see the feedback.

I don't know what level my coach is at, but he makes at least $80 an hour....

depends on what discipline she specializes in..I know level 1 coaches who want to do kids, barely any showing, no fancy horses, they get about $20-30 a lesson no matter there skill, they usually get riders who just want to ride, or parents paying for their kids and don't want to pay lots for them to quit later on.

Hunter Jumper/dressage/3 day eventing/rodeo gymkana coaches-$40-50.00 a lesson if they have showing info, good proven horses, good clientel..if they are just starting then they go int he first catagory.

HUS, Dressage, Western Pleasure, show, reining-these are all in demand where I am (especially western
pleasure as there is only 2 coaches in all of AB) so they are around 50-80 a lesson.

I pay 60-90 for a lesson and my RI I think just has a minimum coaching level for insurance purposes, but walking in ehr tack room and seeing millions of trophies from my age to her age (about 25 years), and their proven show horses is enough for me to pay her the big bucks.

Oh I know.....the title of this should be.....HOW TO MAKE A HORSE HEAD SHY! What a horrible thing to do to a horse. She's trying to figure out what he's looking at and I think he was looking for an escape. I would have kicked her off my property!
