A bot egg is the egg of a bot fly, a small bee-like fly usually present in the later parts of the summer. They usually lay their eggs on the front legs, and fore-quarters of a horse. The eggs appear as tiny yellow spots that really stick to the hairs. The life cycle is that a horse will ingest the eggs when they chew on their legs. The eggs hatch in the mouth of the horse and burrow into the mouth area. The next stage emerges from the mouth and is swallowed. Traditionally you have been told to worm for bot infestation after a hard frost in the fall but depending on the winter that could mean worming anywhere from late November to January. Not all products will clear out bots; ivermectins and moxidectrins will. Regular manual removal of the eggs with a bot knife or similar device will reduce infestations.

A bot egg is a tiny yellow dot attached to a horse's hair - most frequently found on the lower legs. The egg is literally the egg of the bot fly. Bot fly larvae hatch when ingested by the horse and live in the horse's system for a while before coming out the other end and developing into a fly.
A small bug lays eggs on your horse (usually legs and belly) and they stick to your horse really good! They are annoying to get off and they come later in the summer.

A bot egg is from a bot fly (like a bee) they usually come in summer around lots of trees and plants. They mostly go on the horses leg and stick to the horses hair. They are bright yellow things. If the horse licks the bot fly eggs because it is itchy the eggs will go onto the tougne then go into the horses stomach lining and next spring the eggs would of turned into larvae and would be passed through the horses body.
A Bot Egg is the egg layed by the Bot Fly on a host such as a horse. They appear as little yellow or grey dots on the forelegs and shoulders, and sometimes on the long hairs of the throat. They hatch between 2-5 days. Often the horses with lick them and they will end up in the soft tissue of the mouth where they eventually travel to the stomach and intestine and attach themselves there for 7 months before they are expelled in feces and start their life cycle all over again. This is the importance of worming as the larva can attach themselves to the stomach using their sharp mouth hooks to attach to the stomach lining which can cause a lot of damage.
