Very sweet watching your daughter with Sadie!  I think maybe Sadie likes her a little :D.

No, we don't feed straight alfalfa.  We have too many issues with it and our horses are fat.  We had a blend that was a bit heavy on alfalfa and our vet was not very happy with us.  We had to put the two problem horses on straight orchard, which everyone is on now.  We just got 300 bales of straight Ohio Orchard grass in yesterday.

Yeah, he looks great right now.  I love that little guy and his mom.  The momma is so protective!  No one can look at her foal SIDEWAYS and she gets her nose out of joint.  The barn cats there are also a scream.  They remind me of the two Siamese cats in the move Lady and the Tramp.  I think they are up to no good!

Pearl is also fun to watch playing with her ball :),

Heather,do you give your mares in foal straight alfalfa,or a mix alfa/orchard?  What about your other mares and stallions, what type of hay?  I've been feeding an alfa/orch mix and theypick thru it and  only eat the alfafa.

Oh wow I've been praying she excepts her foal this year, maybe she has figured it out by now ,having had so many babies around last year, that she might want one to take care of herself :)    Here's  hoping, praying and keeping fingers and legs crossed!!!!!

Just a heads up to all who are new here....on cam #2 we have Pearl.  She has been very uncomfy today and has us watching her closely.  She rejected her foal last year so we may be very hands on to ensure that all goes well this time and ensure the safety of the foal.  We do not have a surrogate this year that will take the foal if Pearl doesn't.
