This page is dedicated to watching the mares on Mare Stare, starting with the mini donkeys at Half Ass Acres. But be warned....it is highly addictive.

Dayle has been kind enough to allow us to peek into her barn this foaling season since I have no babies arriving at my farm this year. Here is her lineup... 1) HHAA Bumbles - Due January ??, 2014 (separated from jack Feb. 24th, 2013)2)…Continue

We had to put him down. His legs weren't fully developed and we had to splint him. Something about the splintting make them just give up. We lived in that stall with that foal syringe feeding him every 15 minutes. He just was too early.
It sounds like her preemie didn't make it... How sad. Unlike human babies, we can't put them in an incubator. Nature can be cruel. This just might be the one that will make it. We will all send loving thoughts to her and her foal.
Hmmm....counting.... LOL She delivered at 280 something when she foaled with her preemie. She is at....293 days today. We have some that routinely foal at 280 but for her it was too soon. We can only continue regumate (per our vet) until day 295 which is Wednesday. She has already started to bag....so we're concerned, but there is only so much we can do. She's a stunning mare. We'd really like to have a filly to carry on for her.
Thanks for the update Heather. Best of luck with Chantilly. How soon before she can safely deliver?
I am so very sorry. I have been tied up with other Mare Stare business and have been remiss in updating.
We have Ace who should be next, followed closely by Pumpkin who is overdue and Chantilly who is on regumate to stop labor....she delivered last time too early and we have had a time getting a foal from her. We are trying hard to keep this one where it needs to be until it's time.
When is the next one due? Ace was snoozing but looks big enough to anytime
Bah, Ha!
Yeah, Kate. Everyone has vanished. I guess it's because we don't have an imminent birthing.
We haven't heard anything from Heather in a long time either.
Why is everyone being so quiet? I miss all the chat and excited anticipation.
Thanks, Maureen...there is nothing more fun than watching the foals cavort ...
I don't think cam3 is up and running. I checked in on the little guys and had the same problem.
