I saw first hand why Heather is into Minis yesterday. Barn alarm alerted me to a delivery in progress of a ragular size horse. That was quite a rodea and I mush prefer the mini scene although the horses are beautiful the mare rolled on her back and thrashed around and two people could not control her. Finally with much effort from both of them pulling together the little colt was delivered. amazing;ly it survived the rolloevers while it was half delivered but I can sure see the dangers of that type of work.

Glad he is ok!

@Tracy. Its funny you mentioned intussusception. I had that when I was a baby! Had surgery and all.

He is fine Tracy.  He is nursing and pooping and peeing. He has been given an enema and has pooped a good bit.  We are watching him closely.

Baby is straining he may need fluids and electrolytes, check for  intussusception?

Phew! I'm relieved! Thank you.

He needed an enema.  He was just having some problems passing the meconium.  Babies are far more sensitive to feelings like pain, so they tend to be overreactive.  He is fine and we are watching.  He may get another enema shortly.

Heather, the baby is looking so uncomfortable. What's the problem. I'm concerned.

Be's colt seems to be trying to poop a lot. Is this all normal?

Comment by Betty Kasper on March 12, 2012 at 10:38am

Just got my first glimpse of Be's colt. He is beautiful! congratulations. What a delight to see her being able to enjoy a healthy foal.I missed my first foaling this season and I waited up past midnight for it.

Poor Channel she loks absolutely miserable. Hope she goes soon.
