The vet was out this morning to check on Nikki's legs and she is amazed.  She is doing remarkably well.  We are now allowed to keep the wrap off the front leg for 12 hours a day.  12 hours wrapped and 12 hours off....and we will wean her slowly from the wrap.  If her leg starts to bow out before that 12 hours is up we have to wrap it again.  The hind leg is doing well - still needs support and will for awhile. She may have to have a hoof extension glued on as well, but we'll see.

I will probably make her public cam so that we can have the eyes.

Which mare is on the lower right cam shot?

That's Darci and Shannon.  Nikki just had her front leg wrapped for the first time and will beunable to bend it.  We have monitor her to make sure she can get up and down okay.

Sorry, it's been mass confusion today.

When we were feeding we noticed that Fortune, Cinnamon's filly, was rolling up on her back.  Not good - never a good thing.  She was colicking.  So we brought her in and treated her.  In the meantime, Chanel started acting odd - up and down outside, rolling and wanting back in the barn.  So Cinnamon/Fortune were moved and Chanel went back to her suite.

Shannon found Blessed Be down outside and acting odd with a full tight bag. She brought her in and booted lady bug for the day and Blessed Be is testing ready on the refractometer, but not on the foal time strips.  So she's in.

Rebel and her filly, Nikki are on the private cam for our vet and her owner to see.  Nikki has some serious leg issues that require her to be wrapped.  She could use prayers as this is a serious situation.  If she does okay with her wraps we will put her back on public cam so we can have assistance monitoring her.

Wishy is back on Cam #2 with her filly.  Wishy is an aggressive mare and is very rough with her filly.  If this bothers you do NOT watch.  Our vet is watching, Wishy is medicate as much as we can safely medicate and we are watching them closely.  Contrary to how it looks, her filly is drinking.  She doesn't get the luxury that some foals have of a patient mom, but she is cared for and is nursing.

Everyone is approaching ready for foaling and we are bursting at the seams in the foaling department.

Then I came up to the house for a shower and found the internet down and the cams down.  I've been playing with that for an hour or so.  We are back live.

Thanks for getting back to  me , Heather. I know you and Shannon must be exhausted and I find it so hard to believe that anyone would complain to you about how you manage the mares and babes. I think you all do a tremendous job under what can be very difficult circumstances.  Thanks for letting us watch and learn . Best to Wishy , Rebel and the new babes-- can't wait to see them when all settles down.
