I have been away for awhile but I just wanted to let you know that you are so very informative and helpful, Thanks so much.  I just found out my mare is in foal (felt the foal in her belly).  She was pasture bred last July and, until now, I wasn't totally sure she was in foal.  It was totally awesome feeling the foal moving inside her.  She is a maiden mare and is not sure what is going on right now.  She keeps poking and nipping her belly.  Anyway, any hints, even at this late stage would be helpful.  I live in Pefferlaw, Ontario.  Do you still use blankets on the foals after they are born if the weather is warm.  I assume the heat lamp is necessary, but most of your foals seem to be born in the cold weather.  Is that why they have blankets or do you do it for anytime of year?

We need to install windshield wipers or fly swatters on our cams.  That fly on Strikers cam is beyond annoying.  GRRR.  Will fix that this morning as well.

Cam #1 is Valentine - an outside mare.  :)

I'm not sure who the mare is on camera one, but she is certainly a wonderful mother!
