Opps, Sorry. Your right it was Chantilly. Thanks for your answer. It was the site "In case you missed it." I was waiting for that mare as well and missed it. Where are you located? And how many foals are you expecting this year? Love this site and I think it's a great educational tool. Boy those mini's are tough.

Precious hasn't foaled yet.  Which foaling did you mean?

The only birth that we have had this year, that the cord didn't break, was Chantilly Lace's.  We tied off the cord about 1 - 1/2" below the belly and we cut it with sterile scissors. Then we treated the navel as well.

Thanks Heather for your reply. You must be very busy. I must ask, I just watched Precious's birth. I noticed that the foal was still attached to the afterbirth. We have foaled a few big girls (horses). Did you tie off the cord and then Cut it and at what length? Some thing I always wondered about what to do at that time.

Yes, we shave their bellies so that the foals don't injest their mom's hair while trying to find the nipple.  We don't want any hair impactions.

hi heather...have been watching since snowflake was born...love your minis...so nice to see Precious and her bf Dancer next to each other and to be able to touch noses...hoping for safe foaling, healthy babies and happy moms for all the remaining ladies...by the markings is that Abby in the lower left on cam 2??...and one other question how is jack doing...thanks for your time
