Terri, I did cherish that monitor trust me!!  Then had to go a step further and get cams w/sound, not as clear as Heathers but it does the job, the cold weather affects our cams a lot.  I said earlier, I'm about to post a blog about an inncident we had with one of our foals, if it wasn't for the field cam we have on the roof of the barn, we would've lost the filly, but also there is a pretty cool healing idea that saved her life as well & I'd like to share with all.  I'll get working on it right away..:)

Hi Alison,

Trust me, if she wanted out she'd be pacing the stall, you can see how calm she is, this is what mares in her stage want.. pampered, it's really cold where she is, so she's a happy camper in there.  The other thing is in the weather conditions, she can't take the chance of foaling outside, she could walk right out, lay down and foal!  So all things considered this is best for her and the foal.  If we turn ours out that aren't even this far along, they turn around at the gate and want back in..lol

Oh when is the full moon Michelle.  We have seen more foals come on the day after the full moon (foal moon) than on the full moon. :)

Because she is so close Alison, she will remain in on cam.  Trust me - she prefers to be in.  We have some that would prefer to be out and would be pacing and slinging thier heads.  She is not one. She's very content in her stall.

lol Heather.. I think that baby is thinking it's too cold out there..lol or as my friend suggests (she's watching too..) she's waiting on the full moon..

Hi i,m a new marestare victim lol all the way from England. I was just wondering whether you could still turn the little mare out for a little while in a small paddock on her own, just for a change of senery or do you keep them in once there showing sing,s of foaling, I can,t wait to see the little thing and chantilly is so cute xx

Well m she seems to be announcing that it is very close now. Tail up and showing all directly into the camera.

Yes, sorry, I mean on her own as in without a foal at foot.

Think she meant on her own as in without a foal :)

I thought it was happening then! :)
