Hey Fjord fans!

The January 2010 issue of Horse Illustrated features an article about riding Fjordhorses in Norway. And - very exciting - our very own mare Bocina is on the cover and our homebred mare Kestrel is the pull-out centerfold poster!!

So fun to see my beautiful girls out there. Both photos are by Bob Langrish.

Hi everyone, My name is Janine and I have 5 Fjords including my wonderful stallion, Anvil's Lorens, and I love each of them to bits! I describe the breed as the yellow Lab of the horse world. You can see pics on my web site www.yellowhorse.ca/fjord/

I'm trying out the sport Trec. It's quite new to BC. The Fjord seems to suit this sport, though I need to work on canter and collection for the Control of Paces phase.

I'd love to hear more about the Fjords everyone owns and how they are used and the accompliments that they have achieved.

I love Fjords, but I've never ridden one. I've always wanted one, ever since I first saw one when I was 6 or 7.

I love Fjordinga, I used one in Norway many years ago to pull trees out of a forest in winter. She was awesome--we'd drive to the forest in a little wooden cart, log all day (she very patiently waited while we loaded the sled & she could pull quite a load). We'd stop at a little shed and give her some dinner and have coffee and then trot home in the cart--I remember her breath and the sound of her feet on the crunchy snowy, icy road and the stars and northern lights overhead! Her name was Blaka.

Hi guys!
I thought you'd like these pictures of some great Fjords that I met while at the CanAm show in Nova Scotia.
I havent seen too many Fjords since moving to Canada and it was great to see a Fjord drill team perform at the extravaganza!
