Barnmice Equestrian Social Community

The video community for horse people everywhere

G'day all,

I thought I'd drop a post off here to introduce myself. I'm blogging on Share Parelli at PeterC's Blog if you want to know more about me but here are the basic facts.

Attended a Ron Pyne 2 day clinic and had a blast, back in March. By the end of it I was getting pretty good touch it, figure-8 and a wonderful weave that gave me goose-bumps! 16 hours of horse play time in two days and the beauty of it was, my horse Sunrise, loved every minute of it. After a bit of initial talking she was with me the entire time with short breaks for food and what not. What an introduction to Parelli!

Since then I've been working on the skills to do that without the help. We have lapsed back due to some issues I was having. I have high hopes that the Lvl 1 DVD will put me back on track!

Take care all!

Hang on, stick with it! I am really thankful I was introduced to the Parelli programs. What a help in having a really great relationship with my horse. The best!!
Keep havin fun and laugh with your horse now and then.
PeterC, How are you doing with your new Parelli Level 1 Pathways?
Well, I am doing good if a little slow. I think I made the mistake on starting with my difficult horse but now that I'm working with both of them, the "easy" one letting my know when I'm making mistakes, and the "difficult" one letting me learn to refine what I'm asking things are going along pretty well.

Thanks for asking!
Peter, just a suggestion....Go to parelli on utube. you will see lots of people doing the games and it can be helpful & inspiring. There are some really little kids and they are so cute! There is now also a Parelli tube that has just Parelli approved clips. Depending on the horse there are times you might have to be firm BUT try to keep a light hearted attitude. You are trying to help a partner learn...I found a lighthearted attitude with a little humor was helpful.
I went to a Parelli Tour Stop this past week-end and again I was amazed the 'little' things that made a 'huge' difference.
Love to hear what is happening with your efforts with your horses.
I am one of those guilty of repeating the same things for way too long until it probably gets dull for my horse so for me it's time to get more imaginative with the right amount of force/encouragement.
