ADOPTABLE HORSE OF THE WEEK - TEDDY

from www.heartlandhorserescue.org

Teddy is available for adoption! 14 year old TB gelding. 16 hands. (JC name, Roving Eye, by Silver Deputy). Teddy requires someone experienced with OTTB's. He is companion only, he is not sound. Requires shoes on the front and a low starch diet. Excellent manners, he trailers, clips and bathes. But he does have some quirks.

JIGS
Jigs, a neglected 4 yr old who arrived lice infested, untrained, and a stallion, has started training.Attached is a video of his first time with a rider on the lunge line. Jigs is available to a home that will continue his training. He is shy of 14 hands, UTD, and loves attention.

Jigs is available through New England Equine Rescues www.neer.org

NEER will be attending the ECTA Tack Sale and Expo at the Topsfield Fairgrounds in Topsfield, MA April 24th from 9-3. We hope to bring Boo, our hackney pony mascot. Donations of lightly used tack and saleable horse related items are greatly appreciated. Also, volunteers needed to tag items, set up and take down booths etc..

P.S. Thank you for putting up my most flattering photo. At least this one doesn't show my wrinkles! I could probably use a new hat though.

TIER is here! Gail too! Bwaaaa Haaa!

Special Horses is a wonderful group. They have helped rescued horses and the people who do the rescuing, feeding, mucking, medicating, training, treat feeding, etc. from coast to coast.

Without the help of Special Horses, their groups, volunteers & donors, this last year would have been even more difficult! The economy may have taken a dive, but Special Horses didn't miss a beat and were there when they were most needed.

Thank you Ladies!

I'll find out about the forum!

Yes the features are great. It's very much like the ps.groups site I have. Only problem was that feedback said the site wouldn't load, took forever if on dial up. I never had a problem and don't have one here but who knows how it works for others.... Question- the discussion group tab- is that for SpecialHorses only or does it connect to the Barnmice discussion?

So far I am loving it here, it does take some getting used to but the features here are wonderful!

My involvement with Special Horses, Inc. has been an amazing journey. With our growing Borrowed Freedom program I am out in community more and experiencing the same roadblocks and revelations that our participating groups do. It helps give me a better perspective of what works, what doesn't and what is new to try. I am really looking forward to 2010 and trying some new things.

One update, at http://specialhorses.org is the launch of the new website. I developed it to grow as we need it, with video, networking, subscriptions and archiving all ready to go. We can now feature your news clips and stories with greater ease and help get the word out for the groups. I am still updating images and adding content and hopefully all will be completed this week, so keep checking back!

I am so thrilled that I have the chance to help, even if it is in a small way. The participating groups do so much for the horses in need!
