The video community for horse people everywhere

i have a rescue (abuse history) who is terrified of being caught. for five years i put up with his bull because i know the origin was human cruelty. i tried everything. i always tried approaching with a relaxed posture, but it didn't work. finally i thought what if i change my energy field.so i focused on pulling in all of my energy into a little ball at my heart and imagining it droping to the floor and rolling it to his feet. you won't believe this. every time i drop the ball of energy he steps toward me and allows me to bring him in! what do you all think??? he is no longer a problem. i think they see energy fields around us that we don't see. i prove it to myself every day that i bring him in.

The only real reason I believe in ghosts is because horses see them.
I find it amazing that in my lifetime horses have gone from being dumb beasts of burden to being sensitive, intelligent beings that have a lot to teach us about ourselves, horses, and the universe. I so much prefer it this way.
I'll have to remeber your technique the next time I have to catch a horse. It sounds like you sort of give the horse a pleasant path to walk on.
Hi Jackie! With deepest respect, I am curious~~How do you know that horses see ghosts? Interesting~~

Not that this is your case but I'm inspired to share this experience of mine. One time shortly after we moved to our 70 yr old house I laid down to take a nap and awoke to my bed shaking...first thing I thought was the house was haunted. The bed shook for a short time as I laid there really quite afraid. I found our later it wasn't a haunting at all. There was a small earthquake which is very rare in our area.
I have heard from people in "haunted" areas having horses react to "nothing at all" (experienced horse people.) One of my husbands friends lives right next to the Manassas battlefield in Va., and his barn has a ghost who calls the people's names and sometimes spooks the horses. There is also a lot of old horse lore I've read from Northern Va. and the British Isles of horses spooking at "nothing at all" and their riders learning later that the area had a resident ghost.
I also saw my parent's dog absolutely refuse to go into a certain area of my grandparents old house after my grandfather died. There had been no problems before.
Personally I've never "seen" a ghost, but as I said I'm willing to believe in them because I know of 3 different species-human, horse, and dog, that percieve them even if I can't.
Earthquakes can really shake up people, I lived several years in Chile and have been in several earthquakes. My family did not have pets, but I've heard of animals perceiving the first very faint tremors of an earthquake before the ground starts to shake. Even today I am really sensitive to the earth moving, and at least half the time I hear that there was a 2 or 3 Richter earthquake withing a 100 miles or so. Personally I am a LOT more sensitive to earthquakes than to ghosts!
I'm pretty sure my horse "senses" spirits. A few years ago, a long time before I got Bear, the old bank barn at the farm burned down -- spontaneous combustion in the hay loft after a fresh load was stored. Three horses died in that fire. Whenever I try to ride my horse down the lane and past where the barn used to stand (and there is no evidence of it there now, it was all bulldozed), he will not go by it. There is nothing there now, but an empty, grassy space, but I cannot get him to walk past it unless I handwalk him, and even then he's looky and on his toes. I'm pretty sure he feels the energy there. I haven't tried taking him past there yet this year, but will soon, just to see if anything's changed with maturity. It's the only explanation I can come up with for his very odd behaviour in this one area of the farm.

As well, in my opinion, horses absorb the energy of those around them, just as we all do. Think of the young child who grows up in an abusive home and knows nothing else. They carry with them the negative energy of their parents and surroundings into adult life and it permeates everything they do, all the choices they make, all the responses they have to outside stimuli. Animals are no different, and horses especially, being the very spiritual beings they are, are particularly sensitive. I am very self-aware when communicating with my horse -- in the moment and always giving him my full attention. I treat my dogs and cats with equal respect. To the best of my knowledge I am surrounded by happy animals which I expect says something about me. Speaking of "in the moment" my two dogs are patiently waiting for their walk ... bye for now.
So, in the cases you know of the animals are either seeing or maybe feeling the energy of 'something' that humans in general don't seem to see or feel. And I believe some people are probably much more sensitive to energy then others. I have had people that are sensitive to energy state that anyone can do it if they work at becoming more sensitive and more aware of what is there that is not obvious to all.

In many ways life is so wonderfully complicated/interesting. We poor humans will never know it all. Not nearly!!

Apparently I am like you in being more sensitive to earthquakes than to ghosts. I have felt three earthquakes. Two at my home and one in Laughlin, Nevada. Hopefully they stay just tremors unlike the many natural disasters so many are being exposed to in this world.

I have heard of studies done on animals being aware of earthquakes early on, sometimes days before others feel the earth move.. I personally have no doubt that this is so.

Interesting that animals avoid an area where someone or something has died a long time ago. What do they experience that causes them to avoid? Mysteries for now!
I have never tried that....... I think besides your energy field, and your intent..... he is understanding your body language as YOU release the rolling ball to its feet and that between your telepathic messages, body language and energy you and this horse are on your way to a huge breakthrough...... I am so happy for YOU that YOU figured out what worked for YOUr horse and then you shared it with us..... :")
This is interesting stuff- I can go on for days about things that I have seen horses do , Mianly our horses . But there is definatly a" sense" that we do not use much in normal life happenings that is around when I am with our 2 horses , comunication is subtle if your paying close attention to what your horse is telling you . I know there have been times Modoc has invited me in his stall to feed him , Some say he's in charge I say its comunication . Its neat that you have given your horse there a chance to respond to things -it takes patience and a belief that something could be happening . Not all horse people give the time to see things like that. I prefer to Think of ghost as energy that exists it can be good energy or bad , If you prefer ignore the Bad and it takes the power right out of it. I do believe In your horses ability to read with absolute accuracy your intent . I also believe your energy can be interpreted by your horse , The thing about energy is its abolutly the true meaning with no mis-interpretation there's no way to twist it , As humans often do. Jesse
It's interesting what you say about energy. I agree that it's unmistakable for anything other than what it
is, good vs bad. You can disguise your posture and attitude and voice and trick some people but it never fooled my skittish horse--i tried all kinds of slouching, deep breathing, nothing worked--not till i did the energy shift. Milena
That's right - Horses don't lie and they don't seem to respond to human non sence well. Once yo ugain there trust its usually well worth keeping it . Jess
Interesting conversation going on here. You can't lie to your horse. They know us better than we know ourselves.
Isn't that the truth and thats what so special about our relationship with horses, there can be no pretense and you know when you share special moments that they are totally unconditional and freely given.Everyone should take the time to just be with their horse, breath in sync with their breathing and just be, the result is amazing.
Leah, I'm with you! I've always spent allot of time with my gelding, lots of time moseying and playing. For five years now I rarely have to even go into the pasture to get him. I'd say at least 75% of the time he comes to the gate when he hears me. I do not even bring a treat to the gate but I sometimes give him treats while I'm grooming him. Sometimes he slowly walks, sometimes he walks fast, sometimes he trots and everyonce in a while he comes at a run.....what a compliment. Right now when the grass is so newly green and yummy he is less likely to come to me all the way but usually meets me half way but if I have to go all the way, he has not yet ever run away from me. It's a great feeling!! I can own him monetarily but I can't make him be my friend. I fell off him last fall in a spook, he stood with me till someone led him to his stall. I went to the ER and when I came back to the barn, he came at run and with a whinny. I adore him, want him to be happy and he knows it. But he still HAS to be a 'good boy'!. He's my bud!!
