Hello all! I have a stdbd morgan mix- at least that's what I was told, really all I can see is the stdbd :) His name is Cooper and he has been in my life for 5 years now. He's fantastically level headed, a great trail horse, gentle, patient, and willing to please. I am super happy to meet other lovers of this breed!
Wonderful breed!! I have owned a few but currently don't have any (except my single boarder's horse). I keep my eyes & ears in the Stdbd world & just adore the breed. I needed to focus my riding on my main gelding & have one other semi-retired gelding... after kids, one MUSt down-size. My last Stdbd mare was getting too bored watching me ride other horses (lol) so I chose a home for her where she could have a JOB, which was her desire! She loves working. Somedays I miss her, but I have to be fair to her & not selfish. =)
Interesting that I flipped around and found this group. I was just saying to a friend that I used to be a QH person but my StBs are wonderful loving patient boys and have converted me! Well almost totally!
no they were placed after i left. did we take the equine sceince together from guelph? Yes Donna is the guardian coor. I did all the coordinating now it if divided up betwween 3 of them
I am a guardian for the Ontario Standardbred Society and I had two guardian horses. One of the horses just past away on Sunday. His name was Carscott Harmony, he was a big stakes winner. He retired to a farm out in Niagara Falls. This has been very upsetting for me, for he was a wonderful and gentle horse.
I am glad to see that these horses are getting a second chance.
they are such a willing verastile breed.. never met one i didnt love... you must checkout our series this year so far 3 shows with a possible 2 others in discussions
