Barnmice Equestrian Social Community

The video community for horse people everywhere

The reason I love my horse is a couple of years ago I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I was off work for a year due to illness (Chronic Fatigue). I was no longer able to do many of the things that brought sunshine to my life. Limited energy and concentration. I was on anti-depressants because of this and feeling really down.

I hadn't owned a horse for a couple of years and really missed my horse. I started going horse shopping and the first horse I seen was Treasure. He was a 1.5 yr old Paint/QH cross. Bay with a heart shaped star on his forehead. It was love at first sight. I bought him and found a home for him to stay that would look after all the heavy work and I started to come out and work with him 3-4 times a week. Doing clicker training as he had absolutely no training on him. Some days we did lots others we just had a nice quiet visit.

One thing I found shortly after purchasing him was that I no longer needed anti-depressants to get through the day. I had a reason and a purpose to get through the day. He's been a Godsend ever since.

I changed his formal name to "My Heart's Treasure". As it was my heart that he cured and the heart shaped star helped as well.
