I have been training with Canadian Olympian Belinda Trussell for the past 11 years. I have been taking regular clinics with seven time Olympian Christilot Boylen for the past 4 years as well.
I was a member of the 5th placing Canadian Dressage Young Rider Team in 2007 and placed 11th individually.
I made my Grand Prix debut in 2009 competing in the Young Rider Grand Prix classes.
I'm very active in my local dressage club Toronto CADORA. I'm a member of the Executive Board, Chair of the Youth Committee and editor of the newsletter. In 2011 I will also be the editor of CADORA Inc's online e-newsletter.
Hi Andrea!
Thanks for the compliment. Yes, at the very latest. If you could get the article to me even a little bit before that, that would be great as I really want to get the newsletter to the membership before the second week of March. Be well! Dorothy :-)
Hi Andrea! Welcome to the Toronto CADORA group and thanks for joining us. Looking forward to receiving your contribution to the newsletter. Stay warm! Cheerz! D :-)
I should be in first thing tho sometimes take my daughter to the barn late morn /early aft.Would you bring in your previous ones in and make any changes you would like......do you have a time frame in mind?.....C
Hi Andrea, ya we definetly have something in common, and dressage is my top favorite discipline. Well considering you are so close it would be stupid not to mention if you ever need a Equine Massage Therapist I live very close :) (and not to brag but you wont find very many people with the schooling I have gone threw) and wow Oakcrest you lucky girl, I delivered a Schleese Saddle there once and that place is something else!
hiii there
thanks alot for your message
you are welcome in my accountant
and i have to say that you are knight
where do you live in canada ?? how many horses do you have ?? what was the 1st time when you started to ride horses ?
sorry for my much questions :)
Hey Andrea! How are you? How was your show season this year? Do you still have Remmy or a new horse? Kody is doing really good, crazy as ever! I've just been working a lot...hoping to make it to the clinic in April! Possibly coming back to work :) HOpe your doing good!
well i have loved horses ever since i was 5 (my first sighting of "The Saddle Club") i rode, not even once every year up untill i got my first horse, Sky (in the picture), when i was 12 and just got another horse (ex pacer 20yo), Onyx. at the moment i am training my horses to be fit enough for trail riding. None of my family is horsey, but my dad is getting there... he still prefers motobikes though (grrrr)
Hi Andrea! Thanks for asking about the concert. We had an absolute blast! The place was sold out!! The one-hour set without a PA or lights presented its challenges, but musicians and audience got into the spirit of the evening and it went very well. We did a second set with a sound system and the lights back on and I must say it was a bit of a relief. The poor ol' vocal chords might have given out on me otherwise. All in all, it was a very enjoyable evening, and very thoughtful of you to ask. I hope you'll be able to come and hear us some time. Cheerz! Dorothy :-)
I'm trying not to make it too "doom and gloom" but SO much bad stuff has happened this year, and I think that people who aren't a part of the equestrian community need to know about it as well... .So that's why I put it up there. I have lots of friends at school who have no idea about the horse thing at all, but they read my blog and are now getting interested in helping promote change.
What a nice surprise to hear from you! My advise for your first Grand Prix is don't rush your test. Take your time with the transitions, the preparations on the short sides, and very importantly, strive to make everything BEAUTIFUL. Dressage is art after all.
Working with Jan was very interesting. Was feeling so lucky to see him riding everyday and to be corrected in my riding. The stable and the place are just unbelievable, he is a very funny and friendly person with a lot of patience and he likes to transmit. He never put me down even when I was riding really bad. He is really good at giving expression to the horses. I was one of the lucky ones to ride one of his other Grand Prix horse everytime is was away and he gave me a lot of Grand Prix horses for sale to ride so it was fantastic because usually when you work in this kind of stable you just ride the young horses.
There are so many things to say! Kyra Kyrklund was coming there every month to give training sessions, all the stallion part was great to learn how he takes care of their "image" and career, so I learnt a lot about management too and how to deal with the "public relation" part...
It is amazing how he is popular in Sweden, he is treated like a popstar.
He was sharing a lot of his experience with me and gave quite a lot of advices for my career so the experience was really great. Actually, the more difficult was to be the only guy working with 6 girls, it was sometimes a little bit "electric" between them...
Hope I responded to your question, feel free to ask more. You look great and very professionnal on your horses, good luck for the GP, the videos of Stacy Westfall are just superb.
Hi,
Thanks for your comment. Well I work for a large traning organization as one of the assistant trainers. I ride all kinds of horses at different levels from braking 3 yr olds to ones that do GP. This year I am showing one at 3/4 level and 3 at T/1st.
hello! many thanks for your comment. you are very kind.
the black horse is Som-hi, 4 years old, 1,67 m tall, out of Sunny boy (Sandro hit)....I'm feeling in love!!! :)
the other is Feivel 12 years old, 1,73 mts tall, out of Freesbee (Freiherr-Furioso)....a wontherful horse!!
About the answer, I responded as I would expect someone to respond if I was asking. I never had money to pay for training so it's also my way to thank the people who have been helping me to ride better. And thanks to him I also had the opportunity to give clinics in Sweden every month.
Hello Andrea !
I`m sorry that I`m answering so late, I`m just to buisy the last days. I`m original from the Hannoverian, but the Oldenburger are so clever that they are using the best bloodlines ! Thats why they have so many good horses !
In my area ( Mühlen ) we have the best stallions ( Paul Schockemöhle ), so here are a lot of very good horses !
What breeding have bin your Oldenburgers ?
