I was going to adopt one from the OSAS, but I found my guy privately from the owner. I first saw him on Equine Now, a horse classified site. I went and saw him, and fell in love. It was a quicker process than going through OSAS, not that I wouldn't recommend them.....they do very good work. I am experienced with horses, (I am a Registered Equine Massage Therapist), and knew what I was looking for.
