Hi Anne! Welcome to Barnmice! I'm so pleased you answered my invitation. Gis and Walter are on board too, so be sure to ask them to be your friend. I'm sure they'd love to know you're here. By the way, when do you want to get together for that cup of tea? ;-) Cheerz! D :-)

Where will Chris be March 14 -16? Perhaps I can try to make some of that as an auditor. By the way, please feel free to join the Toronto CADORA group. We are inclusive. ;-) and then you can keep up with all the TC news. We have more events in the works and I plan to announce them next week some time. D :-)

    Hi, Anne,
Just found Chris and "friends" on Barnmice. This seems like a great site to stay "connected" to like-minded horse folks.

Hi Anne! I believe a friend of yours (Marie Balogh) has already booked both of you in for the March 7 D&D so you're good to go. Look forward to seeing you there. D :-)

    Hi Anne

We used to show together, what now seems like ages ago. You showed an Arabian mare at some Arabian Hunter/Jumper/Dressage shows. I had several Arabians and Half-Arabians in that world over the years. Now I'm competing Endurance and Competitive Trail (Half-Arabian/Appaloosa cross) as well as breeding and exhibiting Sport Ponies.

Glad to see you are still in the horse world and expanding your horizons. Your works sounds interesting.

Just wanted to say Hi and Long Time No See.

This is already old news but...

It is with no small measure of sadness that I report that the legendary horseman Ray Hunt has died.

Ray Hunt was Tom Dorrances’s “chosen one,” the one to whom he entrusted his inner & seemingly magical mastery of horesemanship.

As Tom Dorrance embodied & Ray Hunt frequently remarked–or words to this effect: It is an inside job.

In other words: It is the human who has to change. Show the horse what you want (communicate in her/his terms) & then GET OUT of the HORSE’s WAY.

Ray Hunt was primary mentor to Buck Brannaman (The Horse Whisperer), Frank Bell, & a host of others. Buck Brannaman–a real living legend, & Frank Bell shared living quarters for a time when they both worked under Mr. Hunt–who always put the horse first. Pat Parelli mentions that he studied with Ray Hunt but some have questioned how close he actually was to Mr. Hunt & how much time he actually spent with him.

We have lost a light &, just as when Tom Dorrance died, we will not likely see another like him.

Here is Blog with a nice tribute to Mr. Hunt–including a small list of Mr. Hunt’s memorable aphorisms:

And here is the hyperlink Mr. Hunt’s Web site, with a portion dedicated to a report on his recent death:

And here is a memorial article recounting Mr. Hunt's life & contributions:

    Requiescat in pace, Ray Hunt.

    Hey there Anne,
It is thundering and lightening over here. Glad as I spent the last week putting manure around my gardens at my house. Was sweating up a storm yesterday working outside.
How are things? I miss you, and your fabulous energy.
