- E.F.A. Level 1 Coach since 1992, riding showjumpers and eventers since the 70's, that make's me sound old. I was born in 1962. I coach full time on our property in the Inman Valley , South Australia. Also coach at pony clubs around the state and the Nation. I have 6 school horses of varied age and height. My Wife and two kids ride as well, the kids ride showjumpers and Pony Hacks . I retired from Eventing a couple of years ago and just showjump now. Currently I have a 120cm horse and one just starting 95cm classes. Looking to ride 130cm class over the next year. As Im up-grading from level 1 to level 2 accreditation

did you get the riding school applications from me and Amber we cant wait!!! Beth and Chloe are coming as well. this is much more fun than filling paperwork lol Im giving Curly 2 weeks off from last week to rest his back. Im sure thats what the vet would say. well bevan our fairer and the chiropractor are coming tomorrow and now curly is lame! (IT COULD NOT GET ANY WORSE)
his back leg is all swollen and is is limping really really badly only walking on tip of his hoof
there is no absus (sp?) or rock

How are the new ponies going? Won't make it over for April unfortunately, but look forward to hearing how it goes :D
Bailey (my horsey) has come sound (fingers crossed he holds it - he's coping well so far with his workload) and we've just started jumping again. Messy, messy! But fun...Had a hoon on our riding club's XC course the other day - WHEEE! Hopefully will be doing some comps soon on the Adult Riding scene :D Will keep you updated...

congrats on the comp results, although I'm not surprised that bundy shied if the judges stood up, shouldnt they know better? Was it a serious fall- was Kate ok, nothing broken I hope.
I haven't ridden in a few weeks as I've got some major exams coming up after the holidays (I'm on easter break now but I'm supposed to be revising) but after that I'll be getting back into it. They already want us to do our uni applications so I've got to get onto that if I'm going to have a chance at going to med school- maybe I'll be able to afford a small property when I graduate. ant wait to come back to aus, altho the weathers been surprisingly good lately- like an australian early summer-type thing. missing you guys loads, form Lauren

Some exciting news on the Vic front - Me and Ell are off to do our *first ever* comp with the boys in 2 weeks (Well, Ell is almost certain) - a SJ comp, I'm doing HRCAV and Ell is doing Open and then we're both doing the Freshman's 45cm and 60cm. Will be interesting :D (I'm already freaking out about forgetting the darnn course) Shall let you know how is goes :D
Any exciting news on the go on the SA front?

My life prety much revolves around revising at the moment, due to the upcoming exams. I'll be able to ride more often when they're over, in the huge park near where we live. They (the school) are already pressuring us about uni applications so that's concerning, just getting the results I need for courses. I'm applying to Cambridge for Medicine(unlikely to happen,but worth a try), The Royal Veterinary College, and Durham Uni for Biomedical Science.

This was on Sunday at the Showjumping Day I mentioned a few weeks ago...we did a 45cm Freshmans to warm up, then 60cm AM7, then 60cm Freshmans. It was a fantastic day, really relaxed, well run and no pressure!
El picked up 4th in the Unofficial (not bad for a first comp) and me and Bailey just had a great time! lol...I love this horse, he is just so professional, took great care of me (I'm not scared of uprights anymore! Whoo!)...El's boy Bob had a bit of a scare at the haybales, which were obviously living on a steady diet of QH Paint pony, but she got him over them...hehehe.

Yes I'm pretty well back on track. The weather here is finally a bit warmer and I've been working, then going on nice long hacks. We are right beside a regional forest, so very lucky to be able to go for miles!
I also train in karate, and my fitness level is nowhere near where it needs to be for that. The classes are an hour long and I'm all high-energy for the first half, then I slowly fade. It's not nearly as instinctive for me as riding, so when I lose my focus, I don't go on automatic pilot like I sometimes do when I'm on my horse.
I'm off to class this evg, so hopefully, I'll be able to push myself through the whole 60 minutes!
What kind of show are you off to? An event? Hunter/jumper?
How lousy that you all have the flu. I hope it's not the stomach flu. That's the WORST!!

It sounds like it's going to be a fun event. Hopefully you'll both be in the ribbons! Be sure to let me know how it goes. Very nice that you both ride! My husband and I do karate together, but I don't think I could ever get him up on a horse!
I don't think I'll be competing at all this year. I have competed for years and years and recently my focus has gone elsewhere. Although you never know, I may get the bug later in the summer and head out to a couple of shows. In the meantime, I am enjoying chipping away at some of the really tough dressage movements and going out on hacks, now that the weather is somewhat warmer. I've posted some new photos on my page of me and some friends about to go out for our first hack. Check them out! :)
Karate class was much better last night. I just willed myself to stay focused for the hour!

Hi Geoff, Is this horse to old???In the Pic he is jumping 85 cms.
Great allrounder for all ages. 15.2 hands, 14 year old pure appaloosa gelding. Currently eventing at Pony club Grade 3 level. Easy to ride out on roads alone or in company. Ideal pony club mount who is easy to handle and a delight to own. Has three excellent paces and is ridden in a snaffle at all times without trouble. Good technique over a jump and currently in full work and training at 1m high fences. Sad sale due to rider outgrown and ready for a new mount.
