In pursuit of a serious business career I set horses aside for nearly 2 decades, Now, I realize there’s a serious imbalance in my life and a sad empty longing in my soul that Only “Horses” can fill.
So I’m currently shopping for my New 4-legged best friend, and only just beginning to contemplate ALL the possible paths we might travel together.
Ok .. Update Time!!
Practical Magic Is finally ACTUALLY MINE!! :)
and an Extra ... totally un-looked for blessing-gift from the Great Spirit will be arriving along WITH Magic ... in the form of a 4 yr. old, bay, minimal spot, 16 hh, APHA mare "Valkyrie"
... *dancing* ... colour me an Exceptionally Happy Camper!!
Yes I read that article about those ladies over 70 in dressage today. I thought it was wonderful. I always like to read those types of stories, they totally inspire me. Especially at this time in my life when last year I had to put my 90 year old mother in a home because of Alzheimer. It is quite depressing when I go and see her. My only consolation is that I have something fun to do in my life. I know that when she was my age she would never have thought of riding a horse. I sometimes think whether I will remember the nice times on the back of my horse when I get to that point. It really puts a perspective on how short life is.
Thanks Barbara,
hahaha he himself ( my dog ) is a little barn mouse he lives at the all you can eat buffet aka manure pile. I also discovered horse shampoo works just as great on dogs!
Thanks for visiting my page, glad you liked the photos :-) I look forward to hearing about your horse-hunting efforts: what kind of horse are you looking for?
There was a intentioned breeding here of a German Shepherd and a Corgi. The breeder was looking for a dog that did a lot of herding. But that didn't work out that well. He didn't keep a single puppy. I knew you were just teasing.
I sincerely apprecicate your warm welcome - Thank You! I'm really looking forward to getting to know you! I love this site, I stumbled upon it while googling for a used dressage saddle... Is that a picture of your horse on your avatar? I use to have a Friesian, Xavier... I miss him terribly. I own a construction company and when the economy dropped I had to sell him... it broke my heart...
Thanks again for your sweet friendship, you're a doll! Have a fabulous weekend! =) Carol
Thanks Barbara for message! Yes, I have pic's of my early days of riding plus pic of my 1st horse "Bud" and 2nd horse "Sheba" who is buried in my pasture. Just need to figure out how to download to computer! Rode both as Hunter/Jumper but Sheba was Saddlebred & started riding her saddleside & Gaited her but still jump her on trails! She Luv to jump!
Hey Barbie! :-) You should definitely start a "horse shopping" thread, (maybe in general discussions? or you could blog about it and we'll weigh in with comments ;-D) - I'm sure there are loads of great stories out there, and probably some pearls of wisdom too...
Thank you so much for your kind comment.
I have found that horses are pretty willing to help us through our rough spots, at least if we don't hurt them. The horses have really helped me improve my MS symptoms, at least I do not mind them as much as I have learned that I can still be an effective rider inspite of my MS symptoms.

Just wondering, do you live in Colorado. Is that what CO stands for.
That is a nice "horse" state.
