I have two horses: Cabreo and Elite. Cabreo is my first pony which i got about two years ago. Cabreo is a 14.2hh chestnut gelding pony. He is 8 years old and has a sweet personality. Unfortunatly i am ready to move on to a more advanced horse plus i am getting to big for Cabreo. This is were Elite comes in. Elite is a 16.1hh dark bay gelding. He is a dutch warmblood, holsteiner and sel francais cross. He is gorgeous.I cant ride him until he gets broken in but i can already tell that i will be getting in that saddle very soon. He has only been here for a bit and he is already gaining trust in me. Unfortunatly i have to sell cabreo though but i may still show him in show season if things don't work out with Elite this show season. I love my horses very much and i never regret buying them they are the best things that have ever happened to me! Elite is doing amazing so far. He is starting poles now! i will be getting on him before you know it i just cant wait. He was hard to get into the canter but is getting way better at it!!!!!!!!!!
I also do hunter/jumper and equitation!
Yeah training is really fun!
Diamond (the chestnut pony) And Dezzi (the paint) Haha original names I know. I named Diamond when I was 7 haha so that's the best I could come up with ;p And Dezzi was named when we bought her.. her full name is Desiree (pronounced dez-er-ay) We call her Dez or Dezzi for short =)
Hahah.. I like cabreo, I like names that are different like that.. I like Desiree because it's spelled cool but people always pronounce it wrong aha. It's just dezeray spellled funny ;p
Diamond is around 13.2. I'm getting too big for her! See, she was born on my farm and was trained at the normal age, but just to have a person on her back, not actuall training. So I didn't start seriously training her until the beginning of last summer, so now I'm gonna show her this year. It's sad that I won't be able to show her longer! =(
Dez is around 14.2. I call her a horse cuz she is so close to being one! ;p
Ya jumping is really fun on the ponies. But sometimes if your up in your two-point and then they decide to buck, their heads gone and you have nothing in front of you! ;p
That's too bad that you have to sell him.. my dad wouldn't let me sell Diamond, she's his baby haha. ;)
Ya I'm looking for another horse, and I've found a really nice one but it's 16.2! So I'm not sure if I wanna go from a 13.2 hand pony to a 16.2 hand horse!
And thanks! Good luck to you too! (if your showing, which I take it you are?) Nah, I'm not good at making full show names up, so if you have any good one's feel free to share! =)
Ya I like appaloosas too but my parents wouldn't buy me one (the only way I will ever own one is if I buy it myself, which right now is now happening lol) because my dad hates appaloosas! He calls them appaLOSERs haha. I think he just doesn't like how most of them have really thin and scraggly tails. And thanks! I need to take some new ones, I havn't taken any pics in awhile.. And I just moved them to a barn so I should definently take pics of them there! =) It's wierd not having them at home anymore.. do you keep your at a barn or at your housse?
Ya I agree about appaloosas being better for western, but some can be nice english too. I used to ride a appaloosa that was a dressage pro! The only problem is that they are built "on their fore-hand" (which means they put alot of their wait on their front end, in case you didn't knwo ;p)
Yes I do live on my own farm. The only reason I moved my horses to a barn is because the field I ride in is now all wet from all the snow melting, and I want to show Diamond so I need to ride her consistently.
Do you keep your horse (s) at home or at a barn?
The appaloosa's name was Jet. He was at the barn that I just stopped riding at recently.
Diamond is the chestnut pony. =)
And I'm gonna be showing her in mostly dressage because it's her first show season.. But hopefully by the end of the season (at one of our last shows) I can take her in some jumper or hunter classes. There's some BEGINNER, beginner jumper classes at this one show I'm going to. I'm thinking of taking her into those ;)
Have you already started training Elite or did you just buy him/her (don't remember what she/he is ;p)
Well jumper and hunter is fun too =) Have you ever showed dressage?
Did you just buy Elite? So he is coming to your barn soon? Well that's great! Have fun with him!
I'm also looking for a new horse. Probably a 4 or 5 yr old that has been started and needs the finishing touches, that I can work on all this year and have him ready to show next season. =)
Lucky you that Elite came! I'm sure you'll have fun! =)
Umm, Just before Christmas I quit the barn I rode at for 7 years. Those were some of the horses I rode..
I miss them aha. ;p
Thats great that Elite is gaining trust with you.. there's nothing better than a horse starting to trust you and get better at everything.
Ya, I play and enjoy most sports (on the school teams) but I play soccer competively.
Ya, I mostly focus on dressage but I jump for fun.. But this year (or maybe next) I'm going to show jump competively.
I love to canter and jump bareback! Now THAT is feeling free! =)
Thanks! :)
And ya the big paint that I'm riding in the pictures is named Zippy. I'm riding him for the owner of the barn I moved my horses to. (who also happens to be my aunt haha) He was trained for western when he was 2ish, then when he was 3 he hurt his stifle really bad and has been off until recently. He can't jog really slowly because it hurts his leg, so my aunt asked me to ride him english. Because in english you push them forward instead of holding them back :)
Well he was trained when he was young, but then he was off for a long time because of the injury. So now I'm like helping my aunt train him. she is giving me lessons on him and telling me how to train him. And yes I switched him from western to english. That's why I'm the one riding him. Not many people at my aunts barn ride english so I'm one of the only ones who can ride him english.
Ya it's mostly western. But my aunt focuses on training more than teaching lessons. So she knows EVERYTHING there is to know about that so its always good to have her!
Shows already? Lucky you! Good luck! :)
Elite is doing very well. Show season is coming up. Still don't know if i can show Elite. But if i do i need a show name. Please help. Any suggestions for show names?
yes he is only mine i don't lease him!!!! my pony and i are going to do short stirrup in trillium!!!! i can't wait either for the show season!!!!! howold are you???????
i just thoght of a name it is: ELITE AT NIGHT!!!! if you dont like it thats fine too!!! Gues what i got a new saddle for my birthday by the way HAPPY EASTER!!
Hey! They are both doing great! :)
Diamond and me are getting ready for our first show on May 2. :)
Dez is finally starting to enjoy being ridden. Can't wait to bring her home and start trail riding her again! How are your guys doing?
Aha thanks!
Were going to be doing dressage at our first show.
And yes haha trail riding is so much fun! It's so relaxing and takes the tension and pressure of the horse that they would usually have in the arena! :)
Haha, I'm sure you will work it out with Cabreo. :)
Glad to hear Elite's doing good! I thought you were breaking and training him?
