Comanche is a Percheron/TB cross, a PMU horse from Canada. He will be 5 in May. When I got him, he was 15 months old, 300 pounds uner weight, and his feet were a mess. As you can guess, he had some problems. I ride him western, and have started him in driving training. I just ride him here at home. His mind is not with me enough to go off down the street yet. I want to find someplace that I can trailer him to and turn him loose in a safe way. He is so big, that I can't take him too far in the trailer I have now. If you visit my blog you can see more pics of him. He is my biggest teacher!
Hi Michele, just wanted to say, we have walked the same path. I am a breast cancer survivor as well. That's how I found my boy. Had one more chemo treatment left in the spring of 04. Saw him and had to get on him, had'nt ridden in over ten years. Thinking I had nothing to lose at that point, we wrapped my pick-line,"in my arm", and presto, I was hooked. Didn't care bout what I was going thru anymore, just wanted to get back in the saddle. It's been the best thing ever happened, health wise, and in all aspects of my life!
