A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I have been in the horse industry since I was able to by my first pony at the age 7. My dad and I went to the farm auction were there racing ponies in a corral for sale. There in the far corner of the corral was a black and white pinto mare and foal standing at her side. She was shaking from all the noises and people standing around. As the other were sold this mare would run away from the handlers. I stood by the fence and I held out my hand and she came to me slowly. I touched her nose. the guy came towards her and she ran. the auctioneer said that any one that could catch the mare and colt was theirs to keep and their owners/racing papers will not be given. Only a bill of sale. Lots of people tried to catch them but wasn't successful. After the sale my dad and I was going to leave and Mr Edwards the auctioneer said "little lady you catch the mare and she is yours." He open the gate and i went in. She ran away, Stop and talk to her with my back turned away from her and she slowly came up to me. I took her little rope that was on her halter. and that is what started my in the horse/pony world. She was 18 years old with a one month old colt at her side. The owner said that it was a surpize to find him. because she had not had a foal for 5 years. Hidie was her name and she past in July,1979. her foal Prince died a year later.
I am proud to have had the life with all my ponies and horses It brought love, joy, happiness to many others, and freedom from the real world.
Now I am lost without them. I still have 3 but do not see them very often. They are with other people till I can find a barn for them since my mother is losing the family farm.
I lived in the country for 50 years, now I live in the city apartment.
I have rode nearly everyday on the month. Now I am lucky to get out to ride.
I am 5'2' medium built, and long hair.
