A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I got my first horse 40 years ago today (7-4-1970, I was 19) after having trail ridden in Chile and Uruguay for four years while in grade school.
I am now disabled with Multiple sclerosis. I still ride due to the kindness of others (human and equine}.
I now ride Forward Seat on the flat, since I am too disabled to jump.
I adore Arabian horses!

Good Morning (here it is 7:44am)! Thank you for liking the horses!!

In Germany I have trained Friesians for  hadicapped people, as my cousin is handicapped. The doctors told the mother the girl will only become 2 years. Now she is 11!! When she was a baby she laid naked on the horse (I covered here with a blanket) ... The horses were so smart with this little baby. From this time on I have trained some horses in that way that they are very good for handicapped people. One mare from me was sold to the Canarian Islands to a woman that have had a very bad accident after that she wasn´t able to to anything alone or without help. The horse helped here to relax here muscles (you know the best in which way horses can help us...)!
I would be very pleased to know more about the horses your`re riding on.

Now I need to go to the horses ... bey!

Glad to hear your able to get a ride , it must be cold there. I haven't ridden for about 3 weeks , banged up my shoulder off a youngster at Dressage. Strained the ligament on the top of the collerbone. very sore. should be right in a couple of days though. Hope you had a great xmas (I ate far too much).

About Willow... Syd exaggerated a little about her... She isn't nearly as bad as Syd said she was. Thank you so much for your concern though. By the way to keep you updated, my dad has been diagnosed with cancer very recently. Thank you for being so kind to me

    Hi Jackie

You might be pleasantly surprised!  My TeleRein measures from about 400 grams, which turns the bottom light on!  It goes up by 250 grams until 1.2kg, and eventually to 13kg, but you wouldn't ever get there!

    Cheers

    Jennifer

Hi Jackie, so do you have any good ideas on his eyes,I have the sores about gone, I was thinking if I could get his fore lock longer it would help shade his eyes, do you have any good mane growing tips? I really want to get his eyes tattoord , I have looked into it and it is very spendy, they say it helps with all the stuff that comes with the blue eyed thing like weeping eyes ,sun burning , light senativeity, mostly the cancer thing

  • Jeannie Keeffe

Hi Jackie, and thank you for the warm welcome. To learn and share with so many knowing and horse loving people is going to be fun.

Hay Jackie , thanks for the feed back, The hair thing ,I bought some hair extentons ,thought I might try that, I all so have the tail from my paint that died last spring that I could use, he was all so deaf and blue eyed , Ya know the deaf thing  is not so bad as they do not spook at noise , it is when they do spook you do not know for sure what it is some times.I.do not like the fact that I can not talk to him I think that is the hardest part as I love to talk to my horses, the one that died last spring I had had since he was a baby, I used hand signs, no I shoke my head he knew, Thank you for reading Tami

Thank you Jackie for welcoming me to Barnmice. Looks like a great site for us equine lovers. I'll have to take some time navigating around. Horses are so amazing, no matter how stressed out I am from work and with other stuff, as soon as I get to the barn and see them, my worries are wiped out (at least temporarily LOL)

I am currently riding at an eventing barn.

  • Robin Fleener

Thank you for the elcome and warm wishes about my new barn buddy. I am excited to give him a orevr home and  could tell the young ladys who were his previous owner were glad to have him going to a safe loving home. They he actually rescued this horse twice now from bad situations.

  • Robin Fleener
