A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I got my first horse 40 years ago today (7-4-1970, I was 19) after having trail ridden in Chile and Uruguay for four years while in grade school.
I am now disabled with Multiple sclerosis. I still ride due to the kindness of others (human and equine}.
I now ride Forward Seat on the flat, since I am too disabled to jump.
I adore Arabian horses!

Thanks Jackie - it's a very exciting (ans scary) time thinking about owning my own horse - but I have lots of friends and an amazing coach who are more than willing to help me.
    Once I find her/him I'll post pictures :-)

Hi there, Easy Lift is an IT standing at Gort in Galway. Nice bloodlines. Sire to my ISH. Noted for some of his offspring but also in Ireland as an eventer. Mentioned in Barnmice as from one of 3 to 5 foundation studs. Came to this site while googling more info on my 12 year imported as a yearling. By Easy Lift out of Riffinin Lass. Up popped name mention only. But I believe if you want to know your animal well if possible track the bloodlines.

Thank you, for the welcome, I am alittle slow on the computer also but I will learn to get around in Barnmice and I am happy to be here.  I just read your article about older women starting back or beginning to ride, and do feel I have to be careful, didn't ever worry when I was young but know at 60 if I hurt myself it will be harder and the most part is if I get hurt then I lose alot, I am alone and have been for years, all bills, and the care of my animals here depend on me..but I am gonna try with a person to come when I ride at first.. and I am having difficulty getting the saddle correct.. I haven't saddled since I was 14years old.  Cee is basically green broke also, I trust him , he has an awesome disposition and temperment, I worry more about me doing something wrong..haha  I won't go on here forever, I do have a close bond with Cee, I have had him since he was 8 months old(2005 foal). Gonna look and see if I can get some photos on here of us. Again, thank you and have a good one

Jackie,  Thanks so much for the advice, I was given the name of someone close that works at at a youth camp in the area , he will come to your home to give lessons, I just feel I need someone to help me at first.. and definately on the saddle , last thing Cee and I need is for the saddle to slide to slide under his belly, and last I put it on him it really was moving around, we just walked around a minute and I got off.  I am doing something with the cinch that is not working, so we are just waiting on getting things right. Financially, I really can't send him to a trainer right now, and he got very ill last time I sent him to be broke, I promised him and myself he would never leave here again..he got an eye fungus and we almost lost his eye, I was advised to kill the eye so we could get rid if the fungus, Texas A&M opthimoligist thencompounded meds, and after couple months we finally got it.  So I will have to find some one who will come here, for me and him.  That was during training and then they had to quit riding him because he was in pain.  But Cee and I will get there I have full faith. Hope your day is good and you are feeling well.

thanks you, Jackie.  I'd very much like to send Michael a copy of my short story.  I belong to a writer's group for several years...nothing that special, mostly true life horse stories inspired by my decades in and out of the business.  But the story about Michael is kind of special to me, and -- when I stumbled across this site -- I wondered if you might forward it to him, or tell me how to send it.  And Thanks for welcoming me.

  • Candace Clemens

Oh...I thought this was a site run by Michael Matz.  My story is not about dressage. It's about Michael Matz...and racing...and the time I met Michael many decades ago.
