I have been working with horses for most of my life. I am an equine massage therapist and have been practicing for 10 years now, having graduated from a 2 year intensive equine massage therapy diploma program. I also acheived an Honors degree in Biology. I recently relocated to Kitchener and have relaunch my business (McMaster Massage) in this region.
Hi Sharon, I had a better year this year. I am at the point that I need to get a different job that allows me to spend more time on my massage business. The aromatherapy is interesting and I am adding it to my massage a little. It is mostly for my dogs right now.
I'm enjoying it very much when I do get the chance to massage! The economy has hit my area very hard due to the drought and exorbitant hay prices that the horse industry got hit with for the last 2 years :( How are things up Kitchener way?
I would love to build up to Full time massage... but by the looks of the industry in my area, I'd have to move out of state (which I'm not opposed too!). I'm working retail at TSC (do you have those?) so I'm hoping to make a few contacts that way. I'm starting school in March to become a Vet Tech. I'm hoping to combine my massage knowledge with the vet tech stuff and i'm *hoping* to get on with a large animal vet. *crosses fingers*
