A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Horses have always been an integral part of my life. At a young age, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to study and work under Jill Hassler of Hilltop Farm, and I loved competing in Hunter/Jumper and Dressage. Over the years, I developed a passion for Dressage and was fascinated with the connection between horse and rider.
After attending Pennsylvania State University were I received my BA in psychology, I joined AmeriCorps, volunteering as a teacher/counselor in their equine therapy program and became certified as a PATH International riding instructor. I continued working in equine therapy at several programs in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and California. This work helped broaden my understanding of the human/horse bond and led me to explore various regions of the world to expand my knowledge of the many equestrian disciplines.
During my travels, I was introduced to many types of horse-related businesses and realized that there was a need to unify the equestrian travel industry. In 2011, with the help of my contacts from various walks of life, we established the Equestrian Travel Association to raise the awareness of equestrian travel opportunities in the eyes of the public, the travel industry and the media.
