This wonderful site has A LOT of horse knowledge on it, you just have to find it. Of course if you don't want to go back through years of discussions and blogs and months of the forums feel perfectly free to ask for advice. The Forums are good for that now, or the Discussions.
What type of Arabs did your husband breed? I had Al-Khamsa Arabs for a while. Now I don't have a horse but my riding teacher has me riding an old (ca. 30) Arab mare, probably Crabbet bred. Since I have MS and I ride for physical therapy it works out well, the mare needed physical therapy too and I'm a good enough rider and I know enough to improve her. When we started she was WEAK, occult spavin in one hind leg and she did not move much even in the pasture, and she looked like a war mare that had had a hard ride across the desert. Now she has muscle, carries me easily, and has become more beautiful. My riding teacher upon who the mare had been dumped, is very pleased. We often stand there and just gush about how beautiful she is now!
