The gifts are a thing mostly put on by our host server, Ning. You can send gifts to people for certain amounts of credits. Some are free, but the majority cost. You start out with a certain amount of credits, but once you spend them, you must purchase more to send gifts that require more credits than you currently have. There are a few free gifts that you can send, and you can send them multiple times to different people. :) Hope this helps some!

Here's the "terms" page from Ning that explains a bit better what you would be "getting into" if you purchased credits to send gifts: http://barnmice.ning.com/main/authorization/virtualGiftsTerms?noBack=1

    Hi Deb, Love your pictures.
  • Shannon Whitaker

Hi Deb! Thank you for the welcome. Yes, I am who won the tickets :) I am beyond excited! Are you also on the Island?
  • Geoffrey Pannell

the section 4's are a lot of fun. The stallion, Jasper, is a v nice Lippizana boy. he's only 3. we have a colt of his here as well ( he got in to the mares paddock and the owners thought he was too young to be getting up to funny business , how wrong were they). The colt is only 5 months old, we've called him Scratchy, today he jumped over the gate (1.20m) at a trot, cool as, just trotted around and went pop. Hoping he will grow big enough for me, his mother is an Anglo-Arab who was by a 16.2 hh tb so he might grow..

Had the first sit on Jasper the other day, v nice, just stood still.

he's going well, I've had the saddle on him quite a bit now and he's longreining v well .I have been a bit crook the last week so I've not done much work on him for a week. Will get around to putting some video up soon.
  • Geoffrey Pannell

I don't like to put the young ones on the chambon until they have been ridden a lot.
I'll longrein the breakers for about 2 weeks,in and out of the arena before I ride them outside.
  • Geoffrey Pannell

Yes Deb, we too wear out chambons here with lots of use!! I use them to bring horses back into work from a spell,  6 weeks before we ride them.

The breakers I find want to put their heads down and have a bit of a go sometimes and can panic with the chambon. To strenghten their backs I do a lot of lateral work with the longreins, seems to do the trick.
