I have been riding since the age of 4. Competed 3 day then moved to hunter/jumpers. No longer competing but have a teenage daughter who shows hunters on the circuit. We attend all the shows and coach with Di Langmuir.
Hi, it was nice to hear from you. I'm afraid I don't remember your
horse, but I hope that we can catch up at one of the horse shows
this year. I purchased a five year old chestnut mare from the Windswept auction; a jumper prospect who I have a lot of hope for.
I still own my old amateur jumper "Sparks Will Fly" (Mary), and she's
still going strong; I don't show her anymore as she is 21.
The pictures of your daughter are great... looks like she has talent.
Thanks again for making contact... it's always nice to re connect with
someone after such a long time... Do you still ride?
Awesome memory... yes, my first jumper was Spindrift, who I went to
West Palm Beach with in 1980 and was amateur jumper champion more
than once... she was an awesome first jumper... so careful and so much
heart....
When I am a bit more educated on the computer I'll try and post some
pictures....
Yes, I have a 25 year old son, Alex, and he has turned out to be a
wonderful young man... I am now a single mom to an 11year old boy,
Austin, and although he loves horses, he doesn't have much desire to
ride. He will hop on Mary and play around in the warmer weather, but
it's certainly not his passion!!
Yes, poor Bob has his hands full at the moment.... I don't envy him, but
I hope at the end of the day everything works out for him.... Never a dull moment in that man's life, for sure!!!
At the moment my young horse is boarded at Windswept Farm, and my older horse is at Fairfield... I am hoping to buy my own farm in the late
spring or early summer. I am going to get my amateur status back, and
that will take 2 years.
After working for years non stop, it will be sooo nice to just be able to do things for myself... I am not looking for a big place, I just really miss
caring for the horses myself....
I, too, look forward to seeing you at one of the shows in the near future!
