Have I been told right? The staffy, Staffordshire Terrier, is very closely related to Pitbulls?

I was in the yard one day with several children playing along with a couple dogs that lived at the house where I was visiting. One of my little girls was doing something wrong and I took ahold of her arm and quickly had my arm taken ahold of by the Doberman. He did not bite down, he just put his mouth around my arm enough to hold me. How smart is that?! It was our friends dog and he was great.

We are looking at a Melinau (sp)....Unless something goes bad with the deal we have found one that is 10 months old that will be adopted into our family soon. He is with a trainer right now that is working with him and checking out his nature and all is looking great after 0ne week. He will also need to be checked by a vet and xrayed to make sure his hips are good. I was not familiar with this breed at all until we started looking for a dog for protection & two of the trainers we met recommended this breed. I've been doing some research and watching some videos of them in training and competition for obedience and I'm very impressed so far.

Pitbulls are illegal in some areas in the United States also. Some insurance companies will not cover you if you have a Pitbull.

I have only met one Dingo several years ago and she didn't look much like your dog. She was quite different in attitude then most dogs I've ever been around.

That is terrible what happened to your nanny. Wow!!

Pitbull? They so love to jump in the air and glide thru the air.Ours is getting old now and not able to leap around like he used to. Sad to think of his passing. He is 13 and we got him when he was three. It's realy our sons dog that doesn't live in my home anymore but we baby-sit him alot and I've gotten very attached to him. He has an anxiety issue and goes crazy when he's left alone so we don't leave him. We tried putting him in a cage but he tried to squeeze thru the slightest openings and cut his poor little nose up. didn't try that again. I love pits but get tired of having to defend them all the time. I guess I could ignore any negative attitudes but not my character. He's so great and so many people are prejudice with no experience with them. But I have to agree when we first met, I was apprehensive and have always kept an extra eye on him "just in case' he freaks like some have reported done. He's never even nipped. He did really hurt me one time and I ended up in the hospital and had to have surgery on my ankle. I tripped over him in the living room walking across the floor and he was sleeping in the middle of it. LOL
