Schleese Contest - Making a comeback!

Twist is my horsey dream come true, and my best friend. He is sweet, talented, and always tries so hard to please... but the thing that is most amazing and unique about him is that he is also a fighter. He severely injured his leg in a pasture accident over a year ago and he has had a long road to recovery. His leg received multiple lacerations, exposing tendon and bone... and there were times when I worried about whether I would ever have my horse back. Despite the injury, and the associated pain that he had to endure, he has always been a good boy and trusted us enough to tolerate the things that we have had to do to his leg to help it heal. He still has lots of healing to do, but we have been able to start training him again, and he is staying cheerful (mostly) and cooperative through it all. The scars on his leg will be a reminder of the strength and determination of my little 'Iron Horse', as he works past an injury that would have turned many horses into paddock pets. I think that Twist is one-of-a-kind... small but mighty!
