Profile Information

About Me:
Hi, my name's Catherine. I absolutely love horses and riding and can't imagine a world without them. I currently own one horse right now named Verdicci, or Chance around the barn. He's an eight year old Dutch Warmblood gelding. His father is Krack C, Anky von Grunsven's old Grand Prix horse. He's a goofball and loves making people laugh. I ride and show dressage and we are currently showing the FEI Junior tests and are ranked 3rd Nationally. We made the Region 5 Junior Team last year and had the great opportunity to compete at the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships in Kentucky in July of 2009, where we placed 9th out of 36 riders. We're on the team again this year and hopefully it will go just as well! :) I am currently working with Teri Hallman. She's great and I'm happy to be training with her. I also frequently clinic with Christine Traurig. My dream is to become a proffesional rider and trainer when I'm older. Well, that's all about me!

2010 Show Results:
May: 1st 3rd Level Test 3 with a 67.9%, also won the JR Freestyle with a 67% at Dressage at Flintridge.
April: Won both the Junior Team and Individual tests at the ADA Spring Celbration with 65%'s. Also won the Junior Freestyle with a 63%.

My Journey to Juniors ~ And We're Off!

Chance and I have been training very hard the past couple of weeks, and I feel really prepared. Our lessons have been going great and I think Chance is as excited as I am to represent Region 5 on the Junior Dressage Team! We've worked so hard for this all year long and I'm hoping that it will pay off.

Horses and Happiness Go Hand in Hand! :)

Well, we've wrapped up the qualifying season and I couldn't be happier! I've been trying to make it to both the North American Junior Championships held in Kentucky at the end of July where both team and individual medals are awarded and also the National Junior Dressage Championships in Gladstone at the beginning of August where the National Champion is crowned. Our last show was in Flintridge, California where I competed two horses, my own Verdicci (Chance) and my trainer's horse Wynsum. Th

2010 Del Mar National

2010 Del Mar National

We had quite the exciting week at the 2010 Del Mar National April 27th through May 2cnd. The week before the show my trainer Teri and I decided that we should try to get her horse Wynsum in the show so I could take him in the Junior classes. He's for sale and she wants to market him as a Junior/Young Rider horse so she's having me campaign him and try to

We're Officially Qualified for the 2010 NAJYRC!!!

Chance and I had a very succesful weekend April 3-4th at the ADA Spring Celebration! I feel like we're learning so much together and I'm so excited for our future! Chance and I are both learning how to handle his new and improved fitness level, but we made it through the weekend with good scores inspite of a few bobbles. I felt like we had our best quality work ever in the Junior Team Test on Saturday and

How is everyone's average so far? Do you think all of the az riders will make it?
hah Thunder and I have been in "renver boot camp" since the show, he has a lot of trouble with it and it's a double score in 2nd level, so it's bringing my score down :/ once that is tackled tho, we should be good to go!

It is getting really frustrating, but i'm not giving up yet! The show was kind of pathetic, but it's alright:). We kind of have that pattern as well, things will be going almost perfectly then we hit a rough patch. i have to keep reminding myself that this is a long, long, process!

Where did I state that medival dressage was humane and correct? I have stipulated that the SRS under Podhajsky presented dressage more correctly. I know who Kottas is and he is not a horseman! Podhajsky was a horseman and even General Patton was a h…
