A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
I haven't been on Barn Mice in a long long time...but got directed here by accident and decided to revisit my page and update it. I am still in Northeast Florida; currently St. Augustine for now. I no longer have the big bay horse that was featured in so many images on here; he is sold and living nearby happily; and since then I had another who never made it on these pages; and then had no horse for a few years sadly; and now have one again. So lots of changes. I still have my two dogs but they are old and grey now. I still ride Dressage, the new profile pix is of myself and my new horse Imp; this winter when he first started his training; shown in a lunging kit.

Do you have any pets?
yes, two dogs

Hello Barnmice. Wow...a long time no participation. Well today is June 24th 2021, and it's been some time since my last "confession" lol!

I still have Imp the horse in my profile that was new when that picture was taken. We now live a few miles away from where we did then, and have lived here for 6 years almost. We live on a small farm, private, with five horses, two cats, and two new small doggies. The two older doggies featured in the many pix on here, sadly died within a few months of each other - they were both old. My sadness and lack of small furr companionship, other than my roommate's two kitties; sent me looking for another small dog. I found one in ISLE, aka. ISSY a tiny longish hair chihuahua. A year later we adopted Toby a min-pin who's family were divorcing and he had to find a new home. So now I have two canines again. I live with Mary, the farm owner, and we have grown to be like sisters, sharing all and keeping the various critters happy.

Mary owns three of the horses - an older Trakehner mare,"Arella", who she bought when she first moved down to FL from Illinois, at Valhalla Farm. She was a third level horse then. Arella is now retired to being a mommy or light hacking horse, and she foaled a gorgeous boy two years ago; "Arcadian", by Aqua Farm's "Kougar Von C", by Gribaldi. "Pepel" as we call him at home is a strapping 16hh boy, still growing and playing around on the farm, waiting for another year before he starts work. She also owns a new horse she bought to replace her beautiful black TB. mare; "Little Black Dress" whom she sold recently to a wonderful home that does Dressage also. We recently went to Aiken N.C., horse shopping, and she purchased;"SH Carl's Issues", a four year old American Saddlebred for Mary to use as an all around horse, for lower level Dressage, Fox Hunting, and maybe a little baby eventing. He is still green and learning his lessons daily!

Imp proved to be a much more challenging horse than he seemed to be at first, but has managed to go to a few Dressage shows and recently I have been battling some health issues; and with COVID, we have mostly stuck to home turf, with only a few clinics and trail rides out. But I have a new trainer now who comes to the farm, so I am hoping maybe we can squeeze in a show before the end of the year.  I am still drawing, and have an extra room in the house for a painting studio I am looking forward to christening with a first canvas. That is all for now..lots of changes, but still be-naggled and on the farm!

Hi, Linda. I've been trying to find a way to reach you - my name is Cathy Detandt, and I think you are the lady who called regarding the local dressage association? We had a clinic scheduled for Saturday, July 18th, but it was cancelled at the last minute due to the weather report. My phone did not record your number, so I was at a loss on how to contact you about the change.

We rescheduled and it will be THIS SATURDAY, August 1, at the same location. The Clinician is Petra Wilder (Spellbound Farms), and it is a dressage clinic specifically for Junior Riders. But, there were a couple of spaces available, so there are some ladies riding, too. I hope you will be able to join us:

Date: Saturday, August 1st
Location: Mane Event Equestrian Center
Street: 3991 Osceola Trail
City/Town: Middleburg, FL

Please call me!
Thanks!

Like you, I have a Fine Arts background, MA in Painting and Ceramic Sculpture, used to teach in colleges and universitites, but decided that the tenure game was deadening.

Great to meet like minds!
