A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Born a hundred years too late. Looking for fellow trail riders in Ontario. Ever since I was a child riding around the living room on a broomstick horse watching wagon train, I wanted to be a cowboy. My parents were responsible for my first childhood I am responsible for the rest. I told my mom I would never grow up I mean to keep my word. I am only fifty nine and I have seven lives to go. Move over I am coming thru.

I came across your page , and if you would like to try something different with your horse or any member of your stable I wanted to introduce myself and my hobby. My name is Gary Glaser and I am the mounted commander of the 9th New York Cavalry and live in Binbrook, Ont. I belong to a group of equine enthusiasts that enjoy living historians and American civil war, we are the 9th NY cavalry. The Ninth New York Cavalry has been reactivated by ain the portrayal of the life of the Federal Horse Soldier. As a group, we participate in living history encampments, re-enactments, and giving informative lectures throughout the year in both Ontario and the U.S. Visit use on the web atwww.9thnycavalry.com .

I would like to forward you 2 you tube sites dealing with Civil War re enacting, , the first is well put together, and it is from this past year at a large event in Gettysburg, unfortunately none of our members were at this event, but do know a large number of the riders. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBCgFdTWLx4 The second one is a smaller event held at Upper Canada village, the 9th was the mounted cav. at this event, and this would be a typical small event .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCx3Xkn9Wuc If you have any one in your stable that would interest in becoming involved in our group , do not hesitate to contact me at sgtgaryglaser@hotmail.com . We are not a stable and are not associated with any stable. We are a not for profit group. Thank You Gary Glaser

Hi Victor, I did some work with Cooper tonight and he remembered his training! His buddy was nearby where he could see him, cows were mooing and geese were gaggling and he remained calm LOL
I have sent you a few messages but don't know if they are going through, I see someone else was having problems, wonder if it's the same with mine?

I see you sent me a TEST email......it worked. I was able to get right to my original page, without going to the other email site.

thanks!

Hi Victor,
I had to reopen my account with Barnmice under a different email address......somehow I got disabled from all my NING sites....it wouldn't let me on.
Either I did something "illegal" and they booted me off.....or something else happened. I am not that computer savvy and if I did something that the NING sites didn't like, well, I wouldn't be the wiser. I have no clue?? I like to post alot, maybe that was it?? I don't know...
anyways, I am under a new email and new page......got to start over with posting all my stuff again....grrr.
How have ya been? I have been out on the trails agan....it was 84 degrees here in southeast Wisconsin!!

Hope you have a great time there, some day I will go to that, but not this year. I signed up for a Josh Lyons clinic at 5starranch, it's almost in my backyard, well about 45 minutes away LOL My very first clinic, I am so excited!! Auditing only, is that what it's called? I don't have a trailer to take Cooper anywhere right now.
I went to see Cooper last night, it was daylight longer and the weather was fantastic! He saw me from a distance and came to me without even calling. I brushed him through the fence because I couldn't get through the mud. As I was grooming him he was trying to groom me, had to watch my ears LOL. Then at grain time he still left his bucket and came to me, what a great feeling. I sure felt better being with him!
I have to work on his manners and I know it starts with me not hand feeding him for one. He gets very pushy and in my face looking for treats. I raise my arm and block, but he still pushes in looking for them. Any ideas? I know, no more treats until he learns to behave!!

The weather was yucky in Caledon and Etobicoke on the weekend. I was chatting with someone in Sundridge and they said it was gorgeous up that way!! How was it in Wasaga? Did you work with your guys?
Cooper was so wet, but his blanket kept him dry underneath. Can't say the same for his pasture mates, they were soaked under rainsheets and had to get them changed. He was rubbing his neck all over me, either to dry off or he was cold or an itch?? He also did it the the horses that came out with dry sheets on LOL
I didn't do anything with him on the weekend, sure hope to this weekend, the weather is supposed to be nice. I wish I could win a lottery and not have to work so I could spend these beautiful days with him (don't we all wish that!!)
