A Bit About Me and my Horse(s)
Hello! My name is Emmy, and I am a dressage rider! It took me a while to find my passion, but when I finally did, I knew it was something that I could devote myself to. Dressage is everything I am, and by far the most important aspect of my life. I ride second level on my leased Arabian gelding DF Desert Thunder. My trainer is Julie Sodowsky of Phoenix, AZ. With a new season starting, my boy and I plan to continue showing second level and work towards the NAJYRC Junior Team for next year. Wish us luck! Thunder and I show on both the Arabian circuit and in open dressage, and he has been very successful in both! This summer we will be competing at Arabian Youth Nationals in New Mexico for first and second level :)

Spring ADA

My little guy put forth a wonderful effort this weekend at the ADA Spring Celebration. All scores above 60% in first level and making great progress in second level! We also pulled the second level high point award! My top hat flew off in 2 of my rides, it was so embarrassing! Happens to the best of us I suppose. We get a well deserved few weeks off until Region 7 Championships for Arabs later this month!

Haha so true! My arabs only 13.1 hands and she is becoming a really nice dressage horse. Starting to really accept the bit and round. :)
So excited for the show season this year.. what do you guys have planned? :)

You have to have at least a 62% average to make the team. I have a 66.4% average and Erin has a 60.6% average, so she just needs one more show to have a dropped score. Cassy has a 59% average. She had gotten a 66% average from one show but ownership papers or something weren't correct so she doesn't get to use that for the team. :( I don't think she is trying to qualify any more because this is her fourth year doing Juniors and she just got a new horse from Colorado and wants to do YR's with him next year.

haha, oh fun! lol They all have something they have to work on, and us too! Hope the championships go well, where are they being held?

Good luck! Let me know how it goes.

It is a lot of fun there. :) Unfortunately the show season in Colorado hasn't even started yet so we won't know who is on the team until the end of June. All we can do now is wait and hope our average is good enough!

We're going to do the Del Mar National at the end of April. We are now all qualified for the Junior Championships but I want to show as much as I can because we still need the experience. How about you?
