HI Victoria, I admire your determination to ride again with your fibromyalgia. I do not know much about the disease but know it is debilitating. Someone suggested doing ground work with your horse. I have been working with a natural horseman and he…

I am also interested in this saddle discussion. I have always ridden English and currently trail ride in my dressage saddle. It is a Tristan which is a very close contact...not all the extra padding some dressage saddles have. As my bones get older,…

Hi there.

My horse comes back from training at the end of June. The plan is for me to go work with her and the trainers twice a week, and I am also starting up lessons again...which I need very much! lol Last Thursday my horse spooked, but I stayed on. I hope today goes better :o)

I just noticed where you're from. I'm in St. Thomas.

Have you ever heard of the Kettle Creek riding club (or something like that)? I don't know much about them, but apparently there are miles of trails around here. They have a little area just around the corner from where my horse boards where they have built corrals amongst the trees next to the river. I've been told that the trails they use are very nice. Hopefully, once my horse comes back from training, I'll be able to round up a few friends so we can check them out.

Welcome Horsey Heather! I guess I've been with the site about 3 or 4 weeks and find it to be lots of fun and full of information, and connection with people of similar interests. Of course like with all horse people there is differences in opinions of how to, what to and when to...do whatever! lol So far everyone has been polite about it.
Have fun looking around!
Giddy-up Girl, Shirley

There are horses that do not think the little fences are worth worrying about. Are you lungeing him over the jumps just in a cavesson, or are you using side reins too? Do you lunge over jumps with a saddle on? Do not use side reins (I am not saying…

Where did I state that medival dressage was humane and correct? I have stipulated that the SRS under Podhajsky presented dressage more correctly. I know who Kottas is and he is not a horseman! Podhajsky was a horseman and even General Patton was a h…
