When I went out this morning, Pickles made that encouraging "hungry horsey" sound and seemed happier than she did yesterday.

There is a look that horses get in their eyes that tells you what their thinking. Sometimes it's easier to read than others. But Pickles is an honest horse and I think she knows she's safe now.

We trimmed her mane last night and put some moisturizer on her feet. She is still walking a little sticky this morning… Continue

Kingsley enjoyed his massage by Susanna Malkakorpi. Tomorrow, the egg-bar shoes are going on, then after Easter he will get navicular bursa injections and whole lot of other drugs to slow down the degeneration process and improve… Continue

Pay Attention!

I was in my arena today working with my new horse, Clementine. She is four years old and she is one of those truly great horses that come along so infrequently. Development of Equine Rehabilitation & Education Centre

I am in the process of evaluating the concept of a Premiere Equine Facility which will feature a rehabilitation, training and education for horses and riders.

I have developed a survey, which is easily completed in a few minutes. I am soliciting information and opinions from the horse community on such a facility to be built near the shores of Georgian Bay, north of the Town of Wiarton.

Wiarton is located in southwestern Ontario at the base of the Bruce Peninsula, home of the…

Never barrel race your pleasure horse

It has rained for three days just prior to the our club's yearly horse show. Everything was under water when we arrived. A few of the men rounded-up some shovels and dug some trenches to help drain the water from the Arena.

I hung out with a few other rides, and we sat along side of the arena, just waiting for someone to hit the dirt. We were actually taking bets on which rider would be the dirtiest by the end of the day. Not good, I know, but this was in my younger, more naive… Continue
