Paying Attention to the details

Make sure you pay attention to the details of your horses. Check them for injuries daily. Check even closer if the have a sudden shift in behavior. I recently had a very active senior mare that was usually pushy and rushing to her feed decide to amble around and take frequent pauses.  After a few days I brought her up to the isolation pen and let her est in the full shade with hay and water for a couple of hours. First Sleep Away Show Ever: Final Day and Thanks, Peter Leone!

 

Wow, if you'd told me on Day One that I'd ever be ready to go home, I'd have laughed at you.  Be that as it may, Day Five of HITS-on-the-Hot-As-Hades-Hudson IV saw me ready to head south on I-87.  However, before I did there was that small matter of Short Stirrup Hunter classes we needed to attend to.

easter & flying changes

Conditions Life has been good. Very nice weather with highs in the 70's. no bug problems yet. Footing has been great for riding outside in the FEI ring and hacking.

sunday March 7th

Conditions: Another great day, able to hack before and after ride rode caddy in snaffle and Tia in double

Caddymaster: Very similar ride as on Saturday. I need to let him trot in the speed he wants at first and not get frustrated with how it looks and feels. By the end of the ride he was FANTASTIC.
