Juan Manuel Munoz Diaz rode a real crowd pleasing test on the fabulous PRE Stallion Fuego XII. It wasn't a medal winning test, but it certainly gained the most approval from the crowd!
I just got back from the WEG in Kentucky and must say that on the whole it was quite amazing to see so many riders, so many disciplines, so many visitors all in one area! In general it was quite a different atmosphere than the WEG in Aachen I have experienced – not better, not worse, just different – but the venue was SO huge that the whole…
Here's the latest update from behind the scenes with the Canadian dressage team at WEG!
Well it's here!
The first leg of dressage starts bright and early Monday morning (8:30am to be exact). Monday and Tuesday mark the team dressage competion, where 2 rider's from each team will go on Monday (one in the morning and one in the afternoon group), while the next two ride on Tuesday in the…

The cliff notes for today would be: exhausting day was spent in Kentucky!!! We packed up the trucks early so that we wouldn’t need to go back to the hotel to check out. While we were packing, it was really rather a nice diversion to watch Amelia, the 6 week old donkey filly, harassing one of her sheep. This baby donkey, who is not much bigger than a sheep herself, lives with her mother and a flock of sheep in a paddock across from the building in which we have been staying. She is… Continue

Todd Holbrook, our asst team vet, arrived this evening. He may be one
of the funniest people I have ever met and he has a fantastic eye for
horses. It is now beginning to really feel like a championship event
is around the corner (in other words…it is getting busy!). More
practicing of dismounting and untacking today, for a few hours
actually. We showed everyone the quick release snaps for the breast
collars (thanks Val!!) and all the riders have the… Continue
Sept 21 Today we went to the venue for credentials and
uniforms and that took most of the morning. The uniforms are really
nice. We rode this afternoon and practiced handing off bottles
(there are a lot of new crew members here now and Becky wants to
make sure everybody can handle giving and taking the water bottles).
Ellyn and I rode…Continue
Today was a quiet day at the barn so a few of us headed over to the WEG site to set up the Canadian stalls. We didn't have many "decorations" in the Canadian team trunks, so headed over to Dollar Tree to pick up anything red and white we could find. Robert also wanted us to have flowers, so we then headed over to a nursery to find something. Little did we know September isn't the best time to find flowers. We found some red and white pansies, and…
My coach Belinda Trussell just headed off to the WEG training camp with her horse Anton and two helpers. Bonnie Bonello has had her lovely horse Pikardi at our barn and they went with our gang as well.

We got the horses out early today because a film crew was scheduled to
arrive at 5:30 to film our morning activities and we thought our
horses would do best away from the bright lights and out in their
paddock. The one thing I have learned over the years (or actually I
should say one of the things) is that you rarely make the wrong
decision if your primary concern is the horse. I am not sure about the
schedule for today, but we need to move out of the… Continue
Meg has been emailing a group of friends and supporters daily on her road to WEG. She has kindly allowed me to share her experiences. This first post comes a bit into her her journey, but hopefully all will be able to catch up quickly.I have also added Meg's first posts, which should help everyone catch up,…Continue
Sunday, September 12 was the much anticipated WEG Fundraiser, held at the Vander Ploeg's Pine Ridge Farm. Special thanks to the organizing committee, the WEG Team Riders, and all of those in attendance that made it a success. Photos are available online at the photographers sites:…
My latest, a little different from the rest. Not as outrageously funny, more poignant. What's important is the final message.
In it I make fun of everyone, myself included. It is of course completely ridiculous yet annoyingly true. I hope you all like it! (Dressage Queen with over 15,000 views is a hard act to…
I've been busy and so have not been able to post as often as I'd like. Fighting bad guys and stuff like that. So I figured I'd make up for it and give you guys the first look at my latest creation (muahahaha). It's another animated short movie, set in the make believe news broadcast world covering the World Equestrian Games.
I hope you enjoy it as much, or more, than a previous one shown on my blog called…
