Question: Does the Equestrian community like to shop online?

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to ask a question and that is: Do you shop online for your equestrian products? If you shop online I would like to know why and if you don't what would encourage you to shop online?
As Red Scarf Equestrian does not have a conventional retail outlet, (we have a studio/showroom which anyone can visit) we have to constantly travel from show to show and the expense of doing business this way is becoming outrageously expensive.
For us, it's about making it easy for the customer to shop and be completely satisfied with their purchase.
I know why I like to shop online and the biggest reason is the convenience of shopping at my leisure and on my timeline. I can literally shop the world and discover a lot of incredible products I wouldn't normally find in a mall or a specific tack shop.
Send us your feedback.
Cheers!

Thank you very much. I appreciate your comments. After the time I've spent designing the bags and finally launching last Feb. 08 makes all worth while. I did have some wonderful people assisting me.
Now we're ready for the US and abroad. Cheers!

I REALLY like your website!! Love the home page... those pics are gorgeous & I love the colour-change effect when I scroll over them! Very cool. I must say... I REALLY love your logo too, wow... that's creative! Nice, nice, nice. =)

Hi, Thanks for responding to my question.
So... what do you think of my website?

I almost exclusively shop online as well. The bigger tack shop that we have here has incredible mark up, only offers the most expensive of each line, has limited English stuff, and their personnel are all clueless when it comes to English riding. Plus I have heard that they have managed to black ball any other tack store that tries to enter our market, and I just can't support that. So I shop there if I need something really quick but I do almost 90% of my shopping online. I know my size and my horses size so all I have to do is search around.

I almost exclusively shop online. The nearest tack shop to me is 40 miles away right now, and overpriced as well. I am wary of retailers like Dover online, though, as they charge ridiculous shipping amounts. PayPal is a big plus for me, as well. I love the option that many sites now have to buy used products as well, because my budget doesn't allow for much at full-price.

I VERY often shop online for equestrian things, mostly tack. I LOVE to use PayPal & online banking email money transfer. There are still sites out there that only take credit cards... I don't own a credit card as spending can too easily get out of control, lol. I live in a very rural place & have only one tack store really... I can't ever find what I want, good quality, in a size or colour I want/need. And when there's no competition, the prices are not so good. So to shop online, the selection is ENDLESS!! Oh how our world has expanded!

I would say lots of the equestrian community loves to shop inline. Just yesterday I was talking to someone at work about how tack shops should all have the abilitie to shop online, they would get more of my business if they did

I buy everything online. Unless I've broken a piece of tack, I might shop at a local store, but the prices are much better online. I do like to hit the used shops here though..there are always good scores to be found...I'm a penny pinching kind of gal, so I cut my corners where I can!

Hi Joanna,
I do shop online for equestrian and other products, for convenience, for selection and often for price - online pricing can be far more competitive than a local tack shop or retail outlet. Because returning items can be time consuming and difficult, if an item needs to be fitted, I usually try to "try on" before going to an online outlet. Once I know the size, I'm good to go!

Depends on what it is. I, too, like supporting my local tack shops, but if I get wind of something I can only buy on line and I'm really interested in it, I'll take the plunge.
