Ah, youngsters! :P Thanks for another great post. I do appreciate reading about someone else going through the same ups and downs that The Squirt and I are. Thankfully moments like these do pass. I hope that Sammie's bumps are gone for good.
The Squirt and I had a similar day recently. Usually he happily greets me in the pasture, but he was BAD the day that we found him in the feeder. He took offense to the fact that I removed him from the feeder and dared to tell him that he could eat from outside of it like the other horses. *Snort!* <-- his words. He wandered off in a snit, and whenever I got near him he pinned his ears, tossed his head and trotted off. He pinned his ears at me! *sniffle!* I was distraught. I couldn't get him to cooperate in any way that day. After a "discussion" with The Squirt about appropriate behaviour, I went home and sulked... and my boyfriend teased me that me horse had "unfriended" me.

A few days later, it was as if nothing had happened. He was cuddly and cooperative and has been a star...

... except for his reluctance to get his hoofies dirty by walking through mud. He is getting better though. He has a word of his own to add to Sammie's list...
