Too many people ride horses that are too big and too clumsy...the majority of horses are bred with the possible aim of elite performance...this is not sensible when only the minority compete at elite level...William

You know your subject...many don't! Let's spread the word. As a coach I find more riders, not less, with unsuitable horses. This is bad for us all and bad for the future of our sport. William

Yes I have talked to Dr Hill, although I am not hopeful about the stud book name. We shall see. It is too much part of their business plan which takes priority over genetic truth. William

Shutterfly is described as a Hannoverian but that definition will not be possible for much longer. Dr. Emmeline Hill has done amazing work in the area of TB genetics of performance. She is the person that helped correct pedigree inaccuracies in the TB studbooks. The TB genetics papers all indicate that the TB breed is unique in its very high performance ability and in many many other traits relating to superior athletic performance. IMO Shutterfly has a completely TB phenotype. thank you for…

I agree that horses need to have normal names. Here in Canada, there are none more famous than show jumpers Big Ben and racehorse Northern Dancer. Close behind is show jumper Hickstead, 2008 Olympic gold medalist under Eric Lamaze.

Yes, always the TB, the premier equine athlete, and the premier hot-blood cross. So many breeds have used the TB blood to increase the abilities of their horses, even more than the Arab.<br />
Most TBs LIKE moving, and their descendents like moving more than most horses.

Yes so true about these horses..if you love dressage you know them but how many are known by a wider audience? My point is of course that each of these horses and all champions should be treasured and promoted and their history and stories be passed down to future generations. They are lucky to have you as their champion...lets get more people thinking the same way. William
