Hi Geoffrey!

Good job with Scratchy.  He's a little puzzled, but since he is a calm stallion he will probably figure it all out quickly, especially with you training him!

Hey, he looks calm enough for me to ride.

Congratulations Geoffrey, how many generations of horsemen in your family?  I'm afraid my family will have just one generation--me.

Hi Geoffrey, tell Nick that I think he is becoming a good rider.  I like how he keeps his head up.

Thanks guys, I should say though the rounds were jumped by my pupils not me. Still I'm a very happy camper, all bet with itchy feet lol.

Good work Geoffrey!  I know you've worked hard training and conditioning the horses to achieve this.

hey geoffery, just a question for you. i'm riding western now instead of english but im still having trouble relaxing my lower leg and my instructor has me doing heel down toes down while walking is there anything else i can do to help relax my leg? also when i lope i stiffen my upper body. is there anything to do that will help me relax more so i can sit better at the lope? thanks ~Meghan~

Yes we do a lot of plow jockey work and long lineing work as well. Our horses are also broke to a heavy roping saddle with tightened back cinch. Just started doing this about 4 yrs back and am happy with the results of them being able to tolerate different equipment on them.I know what you mean about the babies sometimes becoming a little anxious with the chambon, I like to keep them in a round pen through that phase untill they adjust. We keep them going in the chambon for about 2 months in between they are also doing the plow jockey work around the property.Your training practices sound very similiar to ours.

oh I use the chambon to work their backs before I ride them so interesting that you do it after you ride them.. Mind you around here no one knows anything about how a chambon works or even what they look like. part of my tools though.
