Thank you for the email re: rollkur! I know that everyone shares a different opinion on this topic, but I consider it a victory for the horse and appreciate getting the news!
That looks like a lot of fun. The pictures from india were great; I always enjoy seeing different horse cultures from around the world. Was tent pegging created to help develop the skills of pig hunters. I think I recall reading somewhere that pigs were hunted from horseback in India.
Love to hear of any news or events in Ontario, I think this might be fun to do with my retired polo pony.
Congratulations on your Team winning the Tent Peggin Olympics. Wow, what a fast and furious sport that looks like. You need to come visit and show us how. It would be too much fun.
Thank you for the friendship request Akaash. I'm looking up tent pegging right now! Please see my blogs on equitation and the rider moving with the horse. I'm a Feldenkrais practitioner and teach awareness and movement.
It warmed up here (interior of BC) to 0 degrees today - positively balmy! We had some windchill, but riding was a breeze (excuse the pun!) compared to earlier in the week, when it was -18 before we factored in the windchill. Given that my arena's open on three sides the windchill can be significant, but I put two electric infrared patio heaters in my tacking up stall, and they make a HUGE difference.
I suppose that given the heat at work for you right now the cold at the farm is a relief?? Keep the faith, Akaash, you're doing good work, and lots of us out there recognize it and are thankful for it.
thank you I'm learning english at the moment I'm gonna be a 3 day eventer some day I also barrel race (walking) but I will learn more bout tent pegging
PS:the horses in your photos are so pretty
I've always wanted to try tent pegging along with mounted archery. Unfortunately, the closest I've come was a not so pretty attempt at jousting with the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). Yes, I am a nerd.
We're getting there! LOL

I agree NATO is not doing their part. we need to get out but the poor innocent children suffer. Kat
Good morning Akaash, thanks for the invite. Have never heard of tent pegging before, but sounds intriguing. Great photos! Will have to look into the sport, being interested in everything equine...Cheryl

Wow..you are quite accomplished! You have chosen a wonderful cause (underpriveledged kids). I lived in the U.K as a child (London) and like Josephine reminisced...I also watched Gynkhana Games, jousting and mounted combat at Cyon ? park...and the queen's changing of the guard. Tjose games and polo, of course ..MADE riders :-)) Amanda
