I looked into barefoot on my vet's recommendation early 2001 for a pony with laminitis. I began trimming myself by following the website and email instructions from Marjorie Smith http://www.barefoothorse.com lots of links there now to good sites and Peter Rameys articles etc. I also did an online course with Gwen Santagate http://www.barefoottrim.com and http://www.horsecourses.net/ see also http://www.thepenzancehorse.com/
These days I am careful not to cause my arthritis to flare and my farrier comes to check my maintenance every 5 weeks, so I just do a little.
Fascinating subject and it makes the owner so much more responsible and aware, rather than simply delegating this important aspect to the farrier.
Other places with photo, video and article help http://www.swedishhoofschool.com/
tons of info readily available via internet, so happy hoofin'

Hi Jenal, pleased to see you offer Reiki and have that open mind for searching the best alternatives for your horses and human family.
I have just spent way too long reading Eileen's training diary on the AND website because she is a Reiki Master. If you have time I think you would love comparing your experiences. http://www.artofnaturaldressage.com
I think it is wonderful that people are finally awakening to the possibilities of listening to the horse and allowing the horse to have opinions and become a full partner, rather than a dominated slave.
Nice horses in the photo's, not much time to join in fully with this site at present, but I would like to read more of your work.
Thanks for the friend invite. Susie xx
Glad you love him so much. Makes my heart fill so good. I am glad I have a chance to let other people see him on this site because I am usually the only one who gets to enjoy him. Thank you again.
Thanks Jenal for welcoming me and friending me. I am very excited about this web site. Just what I was looking for. I am in Michigan USA and do not presently own a horse but love them to my toes! Ellen
Hi thanks for your comment, oh my mums name is Joanna but she put it there by accident. My name is actually eve! He is actually a pony, only 13.2 hh, four year old who i have been training since he was started! thank you for the comment though! x
Actually, that is me and my girl, Lady, at a schooling show. First place in Western pleasure equitation! We won second in team penning at the Houston Rodeo in the #3 Draw! Since Houston is my hometown, it was quite a thrill--Lady got a new headstall and I got $291!!!!!!!
Hello,
Thanks for the compliment. She is registered with the KWPN reg A. She's by Tadmus out of a TB mare by Broken Hearted. I need to get a better one of her now as she is 3 - that one was taken as a yearling. Have loads of her, but not great ones!
Jenal-
I will have to load them to my computer and send them. He is so cute! There is a story behind him that I will share with you when I send the pictures over. Do you have goats?
Jenal, He is a Percheron. I had his mother shipped to me in California from Canada. She was a PMU mare. She foaled two months later. She is black. We really have no idea where Geronimo's color came from. I will go to your page and check out your paint.
