Hello - I found your blog on counter flexing at the canter interesting. At what stage in a horse's training would you recommend introducing or using the counter flexing and when would you not use it for a horse?

Hi Jane, thought i;d pop by and say hello, this is a great place too isnt it ? loads of resources - being sick and not being able to ride means you get to explore places you dont usually get to! - you ready for that reunion?

Hi Jane - I have your Freedom from Fear tapes and they are just awesome! My worst fear was what might happen on a trail ride. I've used several of your techniques and today we went out on a hack with no prep work. My horse (5 year old QH gelding) and I led (which I never liked to do) and he was great. I knew he would be but I had to get my self relaxed enough to let him be as good as he can be!! Thanks so much!

Hi, Jane! How have you been? What is the best way to calm down my new 7 yr old mare? She is a rescue, a friend gave her to me. She is afraid if two or more men approach her, but is fine with one. She is usually calm, but once she is hyped up she is unreachable and unteachable for hours. She can run circles around a huge arena forever and still not be tired or worn out. She is a pale grey/white registered Pinto half-Arab. My grandkids can ride her bareback in my paddock without incident. It is when she is somewhere besides home she sometimes gets worried. She is very gentle, smart and beautiful. But like some Arabs , once she gets hyped up,it is whoa, babeeee!! Any advice on how I should work with her to help her? I have had her for 2 weeks. I plan to keep her forever and maybe do endurance with her in the future. She is 7 years old. Thanks, Jane!

Hi Jane,

Just wanted to thank you for your work at the Osgoode clinic - I was there auditing and managed to take a whole notebook of notes! Better than that, your suppling exercises are FANTASTIC and have changed my entire way of riding. Would you believe that now I can even "feel" where there's resistance - at the poll, neck, shoulder, withers OR hip? Although I always "knew" about these things, I now can feel them and better yet, have concrete techniques to work through them. It's completely changed my horses - physically and mentally - and that was just from AUDITING! Many many thanks!

Hi Jane,

Thank you for the weblink. I've been looking on your links page to see where it is and can't seem to find it. I usually represent the company name as: Equifitt.com Equestrian Fitness. I could send a logo if that were needed. Sincerely, Heather Sansom

ps. Dressage Today liked the piece with Ruth and the Equicizer, but I don't know when they will publish. I'll keep you both informed.

your book, "That Winning Feeling" has changed my life. It was recommended at a barrel racing clinic to me over 15 years ago. I have purchased it 4 times as I keep 'lending' it to people & they fall in love too. My husband outrides with the chuckwagons & it has changed how he rides & prepares. He repeats his mantra, "Fast & Strong" when he's getting on; he re-reads it every year during racing season.

Thanks for all your wonderful incite, you've truly made my life better.

I was just wondering where I can order your book, Program your Position?
I'm riding a lot of horses for my job and I always want to improove my position and my riding as much as I can. Because some of these horses are not easy to ride, I find it difficult to keep my mind focussed on a correct position. I think your book could be very helpful to help me improove my overal position, to make me more aware of it.

And I feel honored that I am able to contact you on Barnmice!

Thank you very much,
Kind regards,
Anneke Kloosterman

Hi Jane, You may recognize me as a fellow blogger on Barnmice- I write the Ride Fit/Ride Better blog. I am working on an article for Dressage Today with Ruth Hogan Poulsen (featuring the Equicizer), and she and I have exchanged reciprocal links- so a link to your 'Program your Position' program is actually on my website. (http://www.equifitt.com/resources.html )
I noticed you have a links section, and wondered if it would be possible to list Equifitt.com Equestrian Fitness Training in there.
I will be auditing your upcoming clinic near Ottawa this weekend. I'm really looking forward to meeting you.

sincerely,
Heather Sansom

HI, I own and have read thoroughly, both your cross training books, and am very happy to see you online with such an informative blog. I have a Shire/Thoroughbred cross that I do almost anything with. We have started eventing the last couple of years, I showjump her, hunt with a local hunt club and take her to the mountain trails for some r & r. This weekend I am going to my first dressage show (trying to improve the weak link of my eventing) and I've found your blog very timely as I need to 'allow' my horse to move foward now that I have her driving more from behind. I also need to remember the 3 big breaths before entering the ring! You have a great way of explaining things to those of us who dressage is more of an 'acquired taste' than a true love ;-)
Keep up the great work, I look forward to each new blog.

Laurie
