I could not get through all 600+ comments, but what I saw in that video was not what a training session should consist~!
This pony is dangerous~! He has been allowed to behave badly and he has excellerated it to the point of endangering his rider.

There are ways to work with a Pony that has developed these antics.
Where where the handlers?
They could have had lead lines on this Pony to encourage & establish proper behavior. [and to provide protection for the rider]

I have a 7 year old boy, and I would never subject him to something like this. It could erode his confidence, certainly get him hurt and isn't teaching him anything except how to get dumped again and again. Give the child a pony to really learn on, THEN maybe ask him to ride a bigger challenge like Ed. As for Ed, I feel for him too. Does he hurt anywhere? He certainly isn't happy to be ridden, that's obvious, and this doesn't look like a game to the pony either. The parents, trainer and barn, well, I've said enough.

I'm really astonished that Ross wasn't hurt, because he nearly could have been killed during a few of these falls, which would have not been funny or just "stupid."

This is just irresponsible on the part of the adults! That pony needs to be trained properly before being a school pony. It is not fair to horse or rider and I don't care how much that little one loves the pony. He needs to be kept safe

No kid should get dumped this often! Remember its all fun and games until someone gets hurt! MINIMIZE UNECCESARY RISKS!!!in the sport that has the second highest degree of catastophic injuries next to race car driving! If the child wants to keep this pony because he loves it -the parents have to act like parents and protect their child -that many body traumas are not good for any child!

That little kid does not know how to ride. It is irresponsible to let that kid ride like he is doing. The pony is badly behaving but still, the way he is treated. I would do the same thing if I was that little pony. I do not think there is anything funny in that video. I hope that kid does not get himself another pony or horses because it is irresponsible to let this keep on going.

This is very dangerous on so many levels. This pony has learned how to unseat this child, great lesson to keep teaching the pony.....he only becomes more and more dangerous. The child needs to be put on a school master so he learns how the ride is suppose to feel before you can expect him to man handle a rank pony. But good pony for standing still after dismounting his mount!

As much as I can see in the video the only lesson this pony has learned is how to dump a rider, however polite it may look. I learned bareback on a naughty shetland way back when, but I was not at young as this child. This pony needs some serious attitude adjustment before I would even think of putting a small child on it. I find the video sad.

I was laughing through the whole thing! I think it's good for a kid to ride a pony like this. It will develop him as a rider, and toughen him. I wish I had started riding as young as he!

Oh, This is so very risky. Personally this pony shouldn't be used as a lesson pony and I'm not impressed with the instructor or whom evers farm it is. I'm really not sure why this is fair to either the rider or the pony. My heart goes out to both of them.
